A FEW DAYS LATER, Lilia's eyes opened at the first light of dawn. She blinked, trying to shake off the grogginess from sleep. Her body still felt weak, the sting of the tracker jackers leaving her skin tender and her muscles aching. As she slowly sat up, she noticed Cato still sitting at her side, sharpening his sword. When noticing that she was awake, he looked over to her.

"How are you feeling?" Cato asked.

"Better," Lilia replied, though she wasn't sure if it was entirely true. "What's going on?"

Cato gestured toward the pile of supplies, where a scrawny boy from District 3 sat, surrounded by a series of buried devices — land mines. At the sight, Lilia's gaze widened.

"We caught him sneaking around while you were asleep," Cato explained. "He's been useful to us."

"You guys did all of this?" she asked.

Cato nodded, answering, "He set the land mines up around the supplies. Now, anyone who tries to raid us will get blown to bits."

After a few moments, Clove and Marvel approached the two. The brunette girl spoke first, "He's guarding the supplies now. Marvel and I are going hunting, we spotted the boy from District 10 yesterday."

Marvel nodded, finishing, "He's weak, should be an easy kill."

Lilia watched as Clove and Marvel disappeared into the forest. Then, she glanced up at Cato, muttering, "I must've been out for a long time if you did all this while I was asleep."

"Just two days," he replied, standing up and stretching his arms. "You needed the rest."

Lilia leaned back against the Cornucopia as she waited for the others to return. The boy from District 3 kept glancing at her nervously, as if unsure whether she was going to attack him or not. She gave him a small nod, which was enough for him to feel more at ease.

After stretching out his muscles, Cato settled back down next to Lilia, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips.

"You know," he started, his tone playful. "You were out cold, but you didn't exactly make it easy to sleep."

Lilia raised an eyebrow, unsure where he was going with this. "Oh? And why's that?"

"That kiss," Cato said, tilting his head slightly as he watched her. "Kind of hard to forget. Got me thinking, was it just for the cameras, or was there something more to it?"

"What do you think?" Lilia replied.

Cato chuckled, "Well, I'm hoping it wasn't just for show. I'd like to think you felt something, too."

"And if I did?"

The blonde boy leaned in a little closer, his eyes flicking down to her lips for a brief second before meeting her gaze again. "If you did, then maybe we could give it another try...when you're not hallucinating from tracker jacker stings."
