A SERIES OF SCREAMS sounded through the area, taking the group off guard once again. Following the sounds, three tributes appeared through the treeline, stumbling onto the sand. One of them splashed into the water, the other was trying to drag her out, and the last trailed behind them, holding a massive spool of wire.

They were all covered in blood.

After a few moments of silence, Finnick Odair gasped in disbelief. Then, in an unexpected motion, he jumped and shouted at the group, "Johanna!"

At the sound of his voice, Johanna's head snapped up at the sound. "Finnick!"

Without hesitation, Finnick rushed toward them in relief. That's when Lilia recognized her. Johanna Mason. District 7. The others must have been Wiress and Beetee from District 3. Lilia could tell by the way the older man was fiddling with the spool of wire that he was an expert with technology.

Standing beside her, Cato asked Lilia, "What is he doing?"

"I don't know," Lilia answered honestly, watching as Finnick embraced Johanna in a hug. "But if Finnick trusts them, then I do too."

The girl took a step forward, ready to join the others, but she felt a strong grip on her arm. Furrowing her eyebrows, she looked up to the boy with confusion, "What?"

"Don't you think this alliance is getting too crowded?" Cato asked, gesturing to the group.

Lilia paused, her eyes moving back to Finnick and the others. It was true that the group was growing quickly. Now they had Katniss, Peeta, and three more tributes to look after.

But, she trusted Finnick's judgement.

"They're smart," Lilia replied, meeting his gaze once more. "And we need allies if we're going to survive whatever the Gamemakers throw at us next."

Cato's grip around her arm loosened slightly, but his voice remained serious. "I don't trust them. And I'm damn sure they don't trust me, either."

"It'll be okay," Lilia assured him. "Just follow my lead."

As Lilia approached the group, Finnick turned and smiled, waving her over.

After catching sight of her, Johanna raised her eyebrow and then smirked. "So, this is the girl Finnick won't stop talking about. You must be Lilia."

The blonde girl glanced at Finnick, and he just shrugged with a grin.

"Johanna, meet Lilia," Finnick said. "One of the few sane people left around here."

"Well, any friend of Finnick's is a friend of mine, I guess," Johanna replied, reaching her hand out and shaking Lilia's.

Just then, Johanna's gaze shifted past Lilia, her smirk fading into a frown. She jerked her chin toward the figure standing just behind her, "He with you?"
