AS THE SUN SET over the arena, Cato, Lilia, and Marvel moved in silence, their footsteps light on the forest floor as they tracked down the tributes who had escaped the bloodbath. The grief Lilia felt for Adrian's death was still raw, but it had since hardened into anger. Instinctively, her hand tightened around the spear she carried, her eyes scanning the forest for any sign of movement.

"Up ahead," Marvel whispered, breaking the silence. "Looks like someone went through here."

Lilia nodded, signaling for the group to slow down. The three of them crept forward, crouching low as they scanned the area.

Suddenly, a figure burst out from behind the bushes. A skinny boy, his face pale in fear. He stumbled, looking back over his shoulder, his eyes wide. He hadn't seen them yet.

Cato moved quickly, like a predator. When getting close enough, he raised his sword, ready to kill, but Lilia acted first. She hurled her spear with deadly precision, the weapon slicing through the air and piercing the boy's chest. He let out a loud cry, collapsing to the ground.

Marvel laughed, patting Lilia on the shoulder.

"Nice throw," he said, grinning.

Lilia's face was expressionless as she walked over to the boy, retrieving her spear from his lifeless body.

Cato skeptically eyed Marvel before returning his gaze to Lilia. The boy knew that the others planned to turn on her eventually, but he didn't want that to happen. He had to keep her close, had to protect her from the others. At least for now.

"We should keep moving," Cato said, breaking the silence. "There could be more around here."

Marvel nodded, still grinning, "Yeah, let's keep hunting. This is too much fun to stop now."

They continued deeper into the forest, moving quickly but quietly. Lilia stayed close to Cato, her eyes and ears on high alert. She didn't trust Marvel or the others, not after what had happened to Adrian during the bloodbath.

"You've been quiet," Cato said quietly, moving beside her. "What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?"

Lilia hesitated for a moment before replying, "Just thinking."

"About?"

"About Adrian...about the others..." Lilia trailed off. "I don't know who to trust out here."

"Trust me," Cato replied.

Lilia looked up at him, searching his face for any sign of deceit, but she found none.

Before she could respond, Marvel stopped suddenly, holding up a hand. "Wait," he said, his voice tense. "Did you hear that?"

In an instant, the group froze. The forest around them was silent for a few moments. But, then, they heard a faint sound of leaves rustling in the distance. Someone was close by, moving through the trees.
