OVER THE COURSE of the next two days, Lilia Conway worked on mastering new skills, moving through different stations, and building her endurance, all while also keeping an eye out on the other tributes. As she moved through the gymnasium, she quickly noticed that there were certain tributes that stood out more than others.

Rue, the small girl from District 11, moved through the training center almost invisibly, her small frame making her quick and unnoticeable.

Then there was Thresh, also from District 11, who towered over Rue, his size making him one of the strongest tributes. From what Lilia could see, the boy mostly kept to himself, rarely engaging with the other tributes.

In the camouflage station, Lilia spotted Peeta Mellark from District 12, the male tribute who was rather shy and quiet. As she walked past the boy, she was taken aback when noticing the intricate designs he created with paint. It was clear Peeta had a talent for blending into his surroundings, and Lilia quickly took note of it.

Meanwhile, Katniss Everdeen, Peeta's district partner, did not seem to show any of her strengths in the training center. Instead, she roamed the area, teaching herself new skills, perking Lilia's curiosity.

The girl also paid attention to the tributes who seemed to be struggling. There was a young boy from District 9 who hands trembled whenever he picked up a weapon. Then, there was the girl from District 3, who spent most of her time in trying to build a fire, but continuously failing.

As time went on, to her surprise, Lilia Conway also found herself spending more time with the Career tributes, specifically Marvel and Cato. Since they were now allies, the group trained together several hours a day.

"Nice shot, but can you do it behind the back?" Marvel asked, spinning back and throwing the spear at the target.

Lilia couldn't help but laugh at the boy, "When will I ever need to throw a spear from behind the back?"

"When someone's standing behind you and bam!" Marvel replied, preforming the throw. "They'll never expect it."

Lilia laughed and shook her head.

Marvel was easy to be around, he would frequently joke with Lilia during training sessions, and they would often practice spear throwing together. Although he was an incredible flirt, his lightheartedness served as a distraction from the Games.

Glimmer was similar, although she did not care as much for the training.

Clove was fierce, and while she didn't speak much to Lilia, they had a sense of mutual respect toward one another.

But, with Cato, it was...different. There was an undeniable tension in the air whenever they were near each other, something neither of them could quite ignore. In some moments, Lilia noticed how Cato's eyes would follow her around the training center.
