THE TRAINING CENTER was filled with a mix of tributes and trainers as Lilia Conway and Adrian Reed stepped inside, their eyes scanning the large gymnasium filled with weapons, survival stations, obstacle courses, and shooting targets. Lilia glanced at Adrian, who let out a deep breath and sent her a reassuring smile.

"Let's get started," the boy spoke.

Instinctively, the pair moved toward the survival stations first. Lilia had been trained well by Finnick in everything from making traps to finding water, so she began demonstrating these skills to the instructors.

Of course, Adrian worked in the fishing industry, so his snares and nets were set to perfection. He earned a few compliments from his skills, and even a few nods from the Gamemakers who were sitting up in the bleachers of the Training Center.

After an hour, the two decided to move toward the weapons section, where a series of spears, swords, tridants, and knives awaited them. As they approached, a Capitol trainer stepped forward, greeting the two, "Welcome, District Four."

Sending the woman a small nod, Adrian reached for a trident, feeling it's familiar weight in his grasp. Beside him, Lilia selected a spear, spinning it expertly in her hands.

The trainer raised an eyebrow, impressed by their choices, "Let's see what you've got."

Lilia moved toward the target area, feeling the eyes following her with every step. She took a deep breath, pulling from everything Finnick had taught her during their training.

With a smooth, practiced motion, she launched the spear toward the target. It cut through the air with a sharp whistle before striking the target dead center. The sound of the impact echoed across the gymnasium, turning the heads of the other tributes.

Without hesitation, Lilia grabbed another spear from the rack. Her movement was swift and precise — another throw, another bullseye. She continued, each throw as flawless as the last.

Around her, the conversations between the other tributes grew quiet as they turned to watch. By the time she released her final spear, the room had fallen silent. Lilia exhaled slowly, lowering her arm as it pierced into the center target.

Nearby, Cato Hadley, who had been sparring with a Capitol trainer in the combat section, paused to watch the performance. His gaze shifted from the targets to Lilia, and then to Adrian's trident, embedded dead center in another target.

After pausing for a moment, Cato walked over to the knife-throwing station and nudged Clove, who followed his gaze and smirked.

"Check it out," Cato spoke.

"They're good," Clove remarked, wiping her blade clean. "Better than I thought."

The blonde boy nodded, his mind already weighing the possibility of a new alliance. After a few moments, he motioned for Clove to follow him, and they made their way over to Lilia and Adrian.
