IT HAD BEEN A MONTH SINCE Lilia Conway finished her Victory Tour in the Capitol. But when she stepped back into the Tribute Center, everything felt different. It has been completely redesigned. The air was filled with the scent of flowers and perfume, and everything sparkled, from the buildings to the people.

"It's all different with the Quarter Quell this year," Selene announced as she guided her and Finnick into the elevator. "New Tribute Quarters, new Training Center..."

Lilia barely listened to the woman, her eyes wandering over the crowd of unfamiliar faces, searching for someone she hadn't seen since the last time she was here.

"Cato, where are you?" she thought.

But, he was nowhere to be found.

"Today will be your spa day, and then the Tribute Parade tomorrow. After that, you'll have two days of training, followed by your private session with the Gamemakers so they can rate your chances."

Lilia gave a small nod, trying to focus. She should've been paying attention to what Selene was saying, but her mind was already wandering to the arena.

What would it be like this time? Who would they be fighting? And why, of all people, had Finnick been chosen in the Reaping?

The elevator doors opened, revealing the grand common room of their new quarters. It was even more extravagant than she remembered, with new paint, silk cushions, polished floors, and a view of the Capitol that stretched miles.

"And last but not least, the final interview," Selene said with a smile as they entered the room. "Any questions?"

Lilia exchanged a quick glance with Finnick, but neither spoke. In fact, that hadn't spoken much the entire train ride to the Capitol, either. The journey was filled with silence.

Neither of them wanted to speak on the subject that had been filling their minds since the Reaping. Both of them were going into that arena, and only one was coming out alive. If they came out alive at all.

So, they did their best to ignore it.

"Alright, let's have a seat and look at your fellow tributes!" Selene cheered.

As they took a seat on the couch, the television screen flickered to life, showing footage from the Reaping in District 1.

The camera focused in on two blondes, each of them waving to a cheering crowd. The blonde girl was so beautiful, she looked like she belonged in the Capitol, with sharp cheekbones and icy blue eyes. The boy beside her, equally as beautiful, with arms so large they could crush her.

"Who are they?" Lilia asked.

"Finnick will introduce them," Selene replied, gesturing for the boy to speak. "I'm sure he knows much more than I do."
