Erebus might have sworn that his heart would explode if he possessed one. For the first time in what seemed like years, he was out of his element. He was aware that worrying about the future was pointless, yet it didn't deter him in the least. The familiar sting of frayed nerves thrummed through his body, making him question whether coming to Beacon had been a wise decision. Fortunately, the doors of the bullhead remained firmly closed, affording the elder Grimm knight a brief respite to attempt to regain his composure.
Ozpin: I can sense your a little nervous Erebus? try to stay calm, you need a clear mind to teach here at this academy,
The door's of the bullhead opened with a slight mechanical sound, soon Erebus's vision was overwhelmed by the bright rays of the sun
Erebus: we shall see what will happen, I doubt the students would trust a grimm that merely appeared from no where.
Erebus emerged slowly from the bullhead onto the grounds of Beacon, stretching his limbs as Ozpin did the same. In a fleeting moment, Erebus was awestruck by the grandeur of Beacon; it was a stark contrast to Salem's castle, radiating light and brimming with life, qualities absent in Salem's domain. From afar, Erebus observed students hurrying toward the academy. With a realization dawning on him, he gave Ozpin a gentle nudge in the ribs.
Erebus: We are late aren't we? you hadn't accounted for how long it would take me and you to get back to beacon?
Ozpin: I prefer "fashionable late", it doesn't matter however as I'm sure Glynda will calm the students down, we needn't worry about being late.
Erebus: If you say so Ozma, I however guess that this "Glynda" will wait long for us, we shouldn't delay, let us go and introduce ourselves to the students.
Ozpin: yes we should hurry, Glynda isn't the most patient type...
Erebus simply gestured for Ozpin to lead the way. The seasoned professor offered a grin before heading towards Beacon. Erebus noted the stark contrast between their footsteps; Ozpin moved with the silence of a mouse, while his own were decidedly loud. Erebus resolved to inquire how Ozpin managed such stealth.
Approaching the inner courtyard of Beacon Academy, it took barely a moment for some students to catch sight of Erebus. In response, the ancient Grimm sensed a sudden surge in the air's negativity, a rush of adrenaline coursing through Erebus's body, prompting him to become tense.
Ozpin: I assume your grimm senses have picked up on some negativity in the air?
Erebus: Yes...I can sense worry and fear, but I'll be fine Ozma while most of my kind feed off negative emotions, I have learned to stunt that sense...although at times I lose myself...
before Ozpin could speak a word, the elder grimm raised hand in order to stop him.
Erebus: I jest Ozma, I won't lose myself that easily.
Ozpin narrowed his eyes slightly before taking a tighter grip on his cane.
Ozpin: be sure that you control yourself around the students Erebus, I don't think I need to say what will happen to you should you injure a student?
Erebus: You know as well as I do that I won't harm any of the students here at Beacon, I may have be a monster, I may have be a killer, but I have left that life behind in order to find myself, I have learned to better myself and be at peace
Erebus advanced once more, Ozpin in tow, feeling a surge of emotions with each step toward the inner courtyard. He presumed the students who spotted him were now spreading the word of his presence. Nevertheless, Erebus remained indifferent; if necessary, he would command their respect. He was determined to impart all his knowledge, for they were the future. After all, immortality is not granted to anyone, and these students must learn from those who preceded them.
