In the middle of a deep meditation, Erebus abruptly rose from his hostel floor. Since Salem destroyed him and the brother of light brought him back to life, his life had been an absolute adventure. His secret had been eating away at him for years, but now that he had told Ozpin and Summer about it, he felt calmer and more relaxed; he had nothing to conceal. The main problem, however, was that Salem still had Remnant on her knees and she had no intention of stopping anytime soon. Erebus knew he had to overcome her in spite of everything.
But for now? Remnant was in a good spot, and Erebus could rest for the time being
Erebus came to the conclusion that it would be worthwhile to pay Ozma a visit after leaving his dormitory and stretching his limbs in a sluggish manner. The old immortal appeared to be on edge ever since Erebus mentioned the brother of light; the old grimm could not blame Ozma; however, he too knew the legend that if the brothers ever returned and Remnant was in turmoil, they would destroy everything and wipe the slate clean; however, this would not happen as long as Erebus obeyed them, was of service to them, and made Remnant significantly better.
Erebus wandered throughout Beacon Academy. All the while he was oggled by students who seemed to finally respect him. It was funny to say the least; he used to be one of the most feared enemies of humanity and the Faunus kind, the boggyman who lurked in the dark. Now, he had changed; he was viewed as a hero by many, a fact that would have made Erebus chuckle, but it didn't matter. As Erebus continued on his path towards Ozpin's office, he couldn't shake the feeling that things were looking up for him, and maybe for Remnant
Erebus finally reached the elevator leading to Ozpin's office, For a moment, the old grimm stayed silent as he felt the power flowing within his body, a boon given to him for returning to Remnant; it felt sundering and limitless, like he could level a mountain and command gravity itself. Despite already being stronger than most, Erebus seemed to grow stronger, his potential never fading
When Erebus crammed himself into the lift, he narrowed his eyes and glanced down at his big hands. He had so many questions about his true role in the grand scheme of things; he was meant to stop Salem, but he neither possessed the power to finally annihilate her nor did he possess the strength to stop her; only a silver-eyed Warrior could petrify her. As Erebus's mind wandered, he was abruptly snapped back to reality by the doors of the elevator opening, revealing Ozpin.
Ozpin: It's good to see you're still in good health, Erebus.
Erebus: The honour is all mine, Ozma. I've got questions for you, if you're not too busy.
Ozpin sighed silently before sitting down at his desk. From the look of it, he hasn't slept in days and appeared weakened, causing Erebus to narrow his eyes.
Erebus: You appear as if death has warmed over Ozma.
Ozpin: My mind is...busy as of late.
Erebus kneeled down beside the desk, just opposite Ozpin, as the ageing immortal drank a cup of hot coffee.
Erebus: I see you are still on edge about the brother of light.
Ozpin: How could I not? I remember the day he revived me and told me what would happen to Remnant should I fail—to know that he is watching over, judging my every move—it doesn't sit well with me.
Erebus hummed in response before speaking again.
Erebus: I understand you're worries, Ozma, but we cannot afford to be disheartened; we must push forward and keep fighting; we simply need a plan for when we confront Salem...
