Erebus had largely reconciled with the fact that redemption was not within reach for the time being. Embracing this, he resolved to continue his fight for Summer and her family. The thought of giving up had crossed his mind, but now, equipped with a renewed perspective, Erebus chose to assist in training Ruby and Yang. Both were thrilled at the prospect of witnessing the capabilities of their resident Grimm. Having had little interaction with Erebus, they were keen to discover what lessons he could impart. The very idea of engaging with him and sparring with him filled Yang and Ruby with excitement.

Erebus had a singular goal: to challenge Ruby and Yang to their utmost, fostering their growth in strength. His exceptional power and seemingly boundless stamina made him an ideal mentor for this task. Although both girls possessed innate talent that belied their age, Erebus knew that talent alone sparkles brightest when honed by skill. Once a firm believer that strength was paramount in combat, he had since abandoned such a notion in favour of a more balanced perspective.

Perched outside Summer's abode, Erebus honed his blade with a small dagger of his own making, sliding it effortlessly along the sword's edge, sending tiny sparks flying. His thoughts drifted to his erstwhile companions, absent from rumour or sight for years now. Erebus was no simpleton; he suspected they were biding their time for an opportune moment to emerge. This possibility sharpened his resolve to train with even greater fervour, preparing to protect those he cherished.

In his dazed state, Erebus accidentally cut his hand with the small dagger. However, his high tolerance for pain allowed him to casually flick the grim dust from the wound, which then began to heal swiftly. Thanks to his innate regenerative ability and his aura, the wound nearly closed up instantly.

Rising to his feet and hoisting his sword into the sunlight, Erebus grinned beneath his helmet. The rust and blood that once marred the blade had been scrubbed away. Now, he would transform it into a beacon of hope and peace. With a flick of his wrist, he ignited the blade, observing as it erupted into flames. After a graceful twirl, Erebus thrust the sword into the soil and leaned upon it.

Hearing rapid footsteps approaching, Erebus turned to see Ruby and Yang running towards him, smiling to himself, he stop leaning on his sword and sheathed it

Yang: Heya big guy! how have you been!?

Erebus: I am fine Yang, I'm more focused on how you two are preforming, I would like to assume you have kept up with your studies?

Erebus was well aware that the two girls had little interest in their studies; they were far more captivated by practical experience. Erebus found no fault in this; after all, they were still children.

Erebus: I also assume you aren't here just to talk, you both have the same look in your eyes, what can I do for you?

Ruby stepped forth, she had to crane her neck up to look at Erebus, although she never lost her smile.

Ruby: We wanna fight you! your the only one around who can! mom and dad are always busy and Qrow's away!

Erebus: I see, then I must do what is needed, stand at the ned of the clearing and wait for my mark, remember to try your hardest or this fight will end quickly

Both Ruby and Yang fist pumped the air before quickly walking to the other end of the clearing, both already had their weapons so there was no need to wait.

Erebus: START!

Erebus, intent on not remaining defensive, charged directly at the two girls. To his astonishment, Ruby and Yang merely smiled and took aim with their weapons. High-caliber rounds and shotgun shells flew towards Erebus, but the seasoned Grimm deftly dodged and parried, gradually building momentum and navigating through the barrage of gunfire effortlessly, moving almost like water through the gunfire
