Despite concerns about Artemis's arrival, life at Beacon continued as usual for teachers and students. Erebus remained vigilant, prepared for her appearance. Confident in his new power, he believed he could easily fend off the Grimm huntress, yet worry lingered. Artemis had undoubtedly returned to the land of darkness to report to Salem. Wolf's death had disrupted her plans, and Salem would seek vengeance. Although Artemis may not have cared much for her former ally, the mere thought of Erebus filled her with rage. She loathed him with every fiber of her being and could not allow the former Grimm knight to live; he had to be eliminated for Salem's plans to proceed.

Erebus however was busy and was currently heading into downtown will team Rwby.

Erebus: Are you sure it's a good idea for me to head into downtown? surely my presence will cause panic, my kind isn't known for their shopping habits.

Blake: not trying to sound rude but I think you're past that point, I'd be surprised if anyone didn't know about you professor.

Erebus: Understandable, I however wished for my presence to be hidden for as long as possible.

Yang: You literally killed a grimm that has been messing around with everyone for a hundred years, kinda hard to hide from the spotlight big guy.

Erebus let out a small huff as the bullhead approached the city. The prospect of meeting people unprepared for his presence was unappealing. He understood that his kind would always be viewed negatively due to centuries of bloodshed. The stigma of the Grimm might never fade, and a single individual's choice to change sides did not mean the Grimm's sins were absolved.

Ruby: Anyways we should be happy! Erebus is with us, I doubt there's anyone better!

Erebus: As much as I glad you are so pleased with my presence, you should also be aware I won't be around forever, in my line of work something is bound to happen.

Everyone quickly developed selective hearing at Erebus's comment, much to annoyance.

The bullhead swiftly touched down near downtown Vale. Erebus could already hear the idle chatter of the townsfolk, each discussing the mundane details of their lives. Aware that his appearance might alarm people, Erebus found himself wishing he had remained in Beacon.

The doors of the Bullhead flung open, and Erebus raised a hand to shield his eyes from the sun's glare. Team RWBY swiftly exited, and Erebus stepped out after them. Vale was splendid at this time of year. The elder Grimm knight noticed that some people had already spotted him. To his astonishment, they showed no signs of alarm, only casting glances filled with curiosity and wonder as Erebus made his presence known. Surveying his surroundings, Erebus noted how the onlookers observed his every move...

Erebus: I hate this already...

Ruby: Stop being so grumpy!

Erebus and Team RWBY swiftly left the landing pad and ventured further into the city. Strolling through the city was quite ordinary, with Weiss enthralled by the upcoming Vytal Festival. However, the gawking of several onlookers soured Erebus's mood as they stood pointing at him. Despite this, he couldn't hold it against them; after all, they weren't hurling objects or attempting to assault him.

There was that at least...

As they travelled to the nearby docks, Weiss was seen smiling for once as she laughed ever so slightly.

Weiss: I can't believe the Vytal festival is only a few months away! It's amazing!

Ruby: No it's more amazing that your smiling for once! I don't think I've seen you smile this much...it's kinda weird...
