Summer: I'm so glad your giving Ozpin a chance Erebus, I know he can be difficult at times but he really means the best for everyone.

Erebus was meditating just outside Summer's residence, his golden eyes tightly closed while his body emanated warmth. He was aware, however, that his time there was limited; Ozma had dispatched a bullhead to Summer's home. Erebus would soon have to bid farewell to his best friend and traverse the grand corridors of Beacon, an endeavour he was not particularly enthusiastic about.

While he didn't want to leave Summer, duty beckoned him to fight once more.

Erebus: if you think I hate Ozpin then your wrong, I simply don't like him.

Summer: That won't do Erebus, your going to be working alongside him for a while, it would be best if you bury the hatchet and start fresh.

Erebus stood up to his full height for a moment before cracking his neck into place.

Erebus: That man has accused me on several things, I may forgive Summer, but I never forget, he has shown where he stands, I don't even know why I said yes to his offer, I am no teacher...

Summer walked up to Erebus and putted his leg.

Summer: You'll learn! you can't spend your entire life in this dingy forest, you have to try something new! think of it as a new adventure! you'll meet so many new people!

Erebus: People I do not care for, Summer, I am a fighter, I am NOT a teacher who can teach the new generation.

Summer cast an annoyed glance at Erebus, who responded with a mere grunt. She was keenly aware that Erebus was set in his ways, resembling a grumpy old man in that regard.

Summer: I know you don't wanna leave, but this will be good for everyone, you can show people how to better defend themselves!

Erebus exhaled deeply, acknowledging the truth; he yearned not for his dream to cease or to be thrust into the vanguard. His desire was for peace and solitude, not to renter the fray, especially under Ozma's banner. He knew the conflict would persist until Salem perished, but with her immortality and an army of Grimm at her command, such an outcome seemed implausible at best.

Erebus however heard the bullhead getting closer...

Erebus: the bullhead is getting closer Summer, it's my time to leave.

Summer got closer to Erebus and looked to the horizon, a small smile on her face as she turned to her grimm friend.

Summer: I guess this is goodbye for now?

Erebus: For now anyways, but I doubt this is the last we will see each other Summer, Ozpin will most likely send me your way every now and then, I'm sure we'll meet on the battlefield, for now however I shall protect Ruby and Yang while they are at Beacon.

Summer smiled, pleased that Erebus was so dedicated to safeguarding her children. Her thoughts drifted to the numerous occasions Erebus inquired about their well-being and the times he shielded them against all odds. It was strangely touching to consider that a grimm could exhibit such concern; it was truly remarkable to reflect on the extent of his transformation.

Erebus: I cannot lie to myself or you Summer, I wonder what will happen in the future, I wonder what will become of me, will I be able to make a difference in this world before I am killed? Maybe I can change the world...Maybe it will be Yang or Ruby...either way I'll be happy.

Summer smiled brightly and nudged Erebus on the leg...

Summer: I think you'll be fine, not many people have done what you have, you fought against Salem and died, you came back to life and are still willing to fight, not many people can beat that record, doubt anyone can!
