Kuni stared into the ocean, sitting on the sand with his legs up to his chest. His mind is completely and utterly blank. Nothing in it.

What would you do if someone who basically left you to fend for yourself finally showed up centuries later? If he hadn't known better, he would have laughed until his stomach exploded.

But that didn't happen, did it? No, it didn't.

Unfortunately she's here. And all he could do was....run. All this time, he was sure he is ready to face her but alas, it was the farthest from the truth.

His legs felt like jelly when he saw her in Barbatos's office. A part of him hated her but the other part....

Still wanted her to love him. Like a mother should.

Was that too much to ask? Was he so weak that she simply discarded him in that domain to sleep for ever and ever?

He'd rather she kill him than abandon him.

He buried his face into his hands. "God.... I'm pathetic..."

No, you're not.

He gasped softly and looked around. Who said that? The island has no village or even a house so he knows that this island was not a place to live.

Plus, it is so small.

He calmed down soon, maybe it was just the wind blowing. His mechanical ears can be wrong sometimes too.

Poor little boy...

He buried his face in his knees, letting his tears fall.

The world hasn't been treating you right... Has it?

He was sure that he had been gone for long but he didn't care. He just wanted to forget everything.

He lifted his head and wiped his left eye from the tears. His tears fell, staining his clothes.

Drip.

"Huh?" He looked up at the sky. Ah, the clouds are gray.

It's raining.

He looks down again, not caring if he gets a cold. Not like he gets sick anyway.

He lets himself stay in the rain, making his clothes soaking wet and his hair covering his eyes.

He didn't move for a while. Staying in one place should make his butt sore but, it's fine.

The rain got heavier and heavier, what a nuisance.

He lets himself indulge in the raining sky. Maybe the sky understood his feelings, and cried for him.

Oh? The rain stopped? But... It was definitely still raining heavily.

He looked up and saw that a big wing was covering him. What the hell?

"What in the..." He looked in another direction and saw a woman standing next to him.

"I didn't think that anyone would come here ever again. Let alone someone I know."

The woman looked down at him and gave him a smile. "How are you, my dear?"

"Istaroth.." Kuni whispered. The woman shook her head. "I told you to call me grandmother." She sat down next to him, still covering him with her wing.

"Right... hello, grandmother..." He awkwardly said. Her words meant that this island belonged to her. And he was trespassing.

"I apologize for coming here without permission... I just... Needed to run away and hide for a while..."

"Nonsense, sweetie. You are welcome here anytime. I'll even make you some cookies if you so desire."

"That would be nice but-" he was cut off with a plate of cookies to his face.

"Double chocolate chip." Istaroth calmly said.

He hesitantly took one. How'd she make them so quickly? He took a bite and oh, it was heaven.

It was so warm and the chocolate was melted. It would be nice if it was paired with a cup of cold milk.

"So, care to tell me why my dear grandchild was crying alone?"

Oh, she's a god... One of the highest ranking ones... Of course she's going to sense his sadness!

"It's... A really bad reason, grandma." He sighed and finished the cookie, grabbing another one from the plate.

"If it made you so upset like this that even the sky started rain so heavily, it's not a stupid reason."

"It's just.... She's! She just- ugh! I hate her! And I hate that I still love her!" He started crying again.

"Is it bad that I still hope for her to love me? Is it selfish?" He asked but he wasn't expecting an answer.

"It's been centuries and here she is, wanting to take me back to Inazuma! Why can't she just... I dont know! Maybe not abandon me and leave me all alone?!"

"I.... I don't know what to do..." He slowly curled up next to her and sat his head on her lap.

He felt a hand patting his hair. It soothed him. It calmed him. So much that he didn't notice the rain starting to stop.

His eyes drooped low and soon his eyes closed shut. He passed out asleep just after a few pats.

The rain completely stopped.

"He doesn't realize his potential with electro yet..." She mumbled.

She covered his body with her wing as a blanket.

"Rest, my dear grandchild. Rest.
