Reds pov

I was back at home with mom, it was Christmas break and both me and Chloe went home. This was the first time I was home, without Chloe. It had been two days since we said goodbye, and I already missed her, but I didn't want to admit that. I really felt like I needed some alone time with mom too, so it felt kind of good.

Currently mom and I sat in our favorite coffee shop, down a cozy little street in our city. Here the winter wasn't cold at all, you could still wear dresses.

We were chatting about me and Chloe, and also her and her new boyfriend. I hadn't met him yet, but I heard he was rich.

It didn't feel weird knowing mom dated new people, we really were more like best friends knowing about the other's love interest at all times. Mom really loved Chloe, too much even.

Mom held on to her espresso and started talking,
- You know me and Ella are like back to best friends again, especially after meeting at your school.
- I noticed, and I'm so happy for that. I say, taking a sip of my coffee.
- What are you gonna get Chloe for Christmas? Mom asks.

My stomach dropped, I literally didn't even think of that.
-Red?? You didn't buy anything?! Where leaving tomorrow! Christmas is in two days!!
- MOM calm down, I snap. I'll find something.

Chloe pov

I was back home, in our very big house. Almost like a castle. It felt almost too big now when I was just sharing a dorm with Red. My room was like the size of our whole dorm, and we even had extra rooms.

My mom and dad had been cleaning all day, they both were almost too exited for Christmas in two days. I really missed Red, we had been without echother for two days. That's a long time when you literally usually live together.

Tomorrow afternoon we were expecting Red and Bridget. They would both stay for Christmas, which made me so exited. I loved that our families got along so well. I had all Christmas planned out, and I had prepared Reds present for months. I'd been talking to Bridget too, making sure the present was okay. And she literally thought it was the cutest present ever, and something Red truly wanted.

I was on my baby blue bed, wrapping some gifts when mom bursted through the door.
- Chloe??
- Yes mom? I said looking up from the wrapping.
- Have you cleaned? Did you unpack all things? Everything needs to be perfect!
- Yes mom, chill. It's all good!
- Okay, dinners ready soon! She says smiling, walking off.

Reds pov

- Red did you grab my purse?! Mom yelled from outside, packing all our things in the trunk.
- No, I don't know where YOUR purse is??! I yelled back, rolling my eyes.

Me and mom really were more like siblings than mother and daughter. But I really liked having it this way.

Mom came storming in, looking for her purse. She was stressed out. The clock already being 3 in the afternoon, and we had a 3 hour ride ahead of us.

Chloe's house was kind of far away, Auradon College was kind of in the middle of us, one and a half hours away from us both.

Mom was searching around, throwing things in the process. I went out to help her. When I saw her I started hysterically laughing.
- Mom, you're literally holding it.

She looked at her shoulder, realizing she actually was carrying it around. She started laughing too. And finally we were off, our small little red car was fully packed, me and mom sat singing along to our roadtrip playlist.
