The week passed quietly, a sort of unspoken truce between Taehyung and Jungkook as neither crossed paths after that initial encounter.
Both were occupied with their routines—Taehyung keeping to his quiet, studious lifestyle, while Jungkook lost himself in a haze of gym sessions and casual hookups.
Taehyung had settled into his rhythm at the university. His mornings were predictable: waking up on time, grabbing a quick breakfast, and attending his classes.
He still didn’t care much about his appearance, yet somehow always managed to turn heads with his effortless style. His days were spent in quiet corners of the library, head buried in his notes or browsing job listings on his laptop, searching for something part-time that wouldn’t interfere with his studies.
One afternoon, Taehyung sat in the library with Jimin, who had become his regular study companion. The soft hum of conversations mixed with the rustling of books around them.
“Have you found a job yet?” Jimin asked, glancing over at Taehyung as he scribbled in his notebook.
“Not yet,” Taehyung mumbled, pushing his hair back in frustration. “It’s harder than I thought to find something flexible.”
Jimin hummed thoughtfully before offering a small smile. “You know, I work part-time at this café near the campus. They’re looking for more people. You should try there.”
Taehyung looked up, a bit surprised. “A café?”
“Yeah, it’s pretty chill. You can study during your breaks, and they’re super flexible with hours,” Jimin said, trying to be helpful. “Plus, free coffee.”
Taehyung chuckled softly. “I’ll think about it. Thanks.”
Jimin beamed, happy to help in any way he could. The two of them had grown comfortable around each other over the week, the awkwardness from their first meeting melting away as they chatted during class breaks or grabbed quick lunches together.

On the other side of campus, Jungkook’s week had been a blur. When he wasn’t attending his classes, he spent his free time either at the gym or with random girls who flocked to him.
He didn’t bother to remember names or faces, just passing time with no strings attached. To him, everything was transactional, a distraction from anything deeper.
One evening, after an intense workout, Jungkook strolled into the gym’s locker room, his hair damp with sweat. Namjoon and Hoseok were already there, chatting about their upcoming classes.
“Another day, another gym session, huh?” Namjoon grinned, towel slung over his broad shoulders. “You’re going to end up living here at this rate.”
Jungkook smirked, tossing his bag onto the bench. “Better than wasting time doing nothing.”
Hoseok, ever the ball of energy, laughed as he sat on the bench to tie his shoes. “Man, you need to chill. You’ve been hitting the gym like crazy all week. Let’s hit up that new bar tomorrow night. We could all use a break.”
Jungkook shrugged, wiping his face with his towel. “Maybe. Depends.”
“Depends on which girl you’re taking home, I bet,” Yoongi chimed in lazily from the corner, earning a round of laughter from the group.
Jungkook didn’t respond, just smirked as he changed into a fresh shirt. His mind wasn’t on anyone specific—certainly not on Taehyung, the guy who had sparked his irritation earlier that week. That brief encounter had faded into the background, nothing more than a blip on his radar.
The four of them left the gym together, Namjoon talking about a new book he’d picked up, while Hoseok animatedly described a new dance routine he’d been working on. Yoongi remained quiet, as usual, but offered his dry commentary when prompted.
For Jungkook, it was just another day. Nothing out of the ordinary.

By the end of the second week, both Taehyung and Jungkook had settled into their routines, navigating their own lives without crossing paths again.
Taehyung spent more time with Jimin, their friendship growing stronger, and he finally decided to apply to the café Jimin had mentioned.
Meanwhile, Jungkook’s nights were a blur of meaningless flings and gym sessions, his frustration from the first day forgotten as he moved through life with his usual arrogance.
Neither of them gave much thought to the other, for now. But the universe has a funny way of forcing people together when they least expect it.
