The cafeteria buzzed with the usual chatter of students, and in one corner, Jungkook sat with his friends-Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok-enjoying their lunch.

Well, at least they were enjoying it. Jungkook, on the other hand, was absent-mindedly poking at his food, his attention elsewhere.

Across the room, he watched two boys sitting at a table, laughing and talking with each other. It was none other than Park Jimin and Kim fucking Taehyung.

Jungkook couldn't forget that face.

Since the first day when he'd knocked down Taehyung's books, that moment replayed in his mind more than he'd like to admit.

There was something unsettling about the boy's sharp features, and more than once, Jungkook had found himself thinking back to it, his mind drifting uncomfortably toward someone he had buried in his memories long ago-her.

No. I don't want to think about that. Jungkook gritted his teeth every time the thought crossed his mind, forcing it away.

Jimin was animated as ever, waving his hands and grinning from ear to ear, while Taehyung, still cold to most, had a softer expression on his face as he listened to Jimin talk. The way Taehyung smiled-it was subtle, but Jungkook noticed it.

"Jungkook, are you even listening to us?" Namjoon interrupted Jungkook's thoughts. Jungkook snapped out of it, clearing his throat, trying to focus back on the conversation.

"Yeah, I-" But before he could finish his sentence, Yoongi, who had been observing Jungkook quietly, smirked. "Nah, he's too busy focusing on something-or someone-at that table over there."

Jungkook shot Yoongi a warning look, but it was too late. All the eyes at their table shifted toward where Jimin and Taehyung were sitting.

Hoseok, grinned mischievously. "Ooooh, who do we have here? That Park Jimin and.... Wait isn't that the new guy from earlier, huh?" He winked playfully. "Our Jungkookie's got new interests, I see."

Jungkook rolled his eyes, muttering, "Shut up."

Namjoon leaned in with an amused look on his face. "Is that where your attention has been all this time? Those two?" He teased. "You know, you're not really the subtle type."

"Yeah, not at all," Yoongi added in his typical savage tone, his lips curling into a sly smile.

On the other side of the cafeteria, Jimin noticed the sudden shift of attention toward their table and nudged Taehyung. "Uh... Tae, don't look now, but I think Jeon's crew is watching us."

Taehyung furrowed his brow, glancing over at Jimin. "Who?"

Jimin blinked in surprise. "Jeon Jungkook? Tattooed guy, piercings, drives a black Mustang? He's in second year."

Taehyung gave Jimin a confused glance before sneaking a quick look over at the table in question—only to lock eyes with none other than Jeon Jungkook, who was staring at him like he could see straight into his soul.

His mood instantly soured. He remembered him now- that jerk from the first day "Him."

Jimin chuckled. "Yeah, him. What's the deal?"

Taehyung huffed, clearly irritated. "That guy's an asshole."

Jimin snorted, shaking his head. "Tell me something I don't know." They both laugh.

But even as they laughed, Jimin's eyes flicked nervously back to jungkook's table, particularly towards the man who often didn't care about anyone or anything--Yoongi.

Jimin wasn't sure why, but Yoongi had this pull over him, even if the guy would never notice or care. Jimin shook his head slightly, pushing the thought away.

"What's with you? You're staring at them too", Taehyung caught the look in Jimin's eyes and raised an eyebrow.

Jimin quickly shrugged, flustered. "Nothing. Just... you know, steer clear of them. Especially Jungkook. He is... complicated."

Taehyung rolled his eyes, brushing off the warning. "I'm not looking for trouble. But if it comes, I'm not backing down."

Jimin nodded, but he still looked uneasy. He leaned in closer and whispered, "Just be careful, okay? Jungkook and his friends... they're not the kind of people you wanna mess with."

"Noted boss", Taehyung simply shrugged.

With that, they stood up and left the cafeteria, ignoring Jungkook's burning gaze that followed them until they were out of sight.

Back at Jungkook's table, Hoseok chuckled. "Well, looks like they didn't even notice us."

Yoongi, leaning back in his seat, smirked. "Nah, they definitely did. They just didn't care."

As the conversation shifted back to party plans, Yoongi stole a glance at Jimin's retreating figure, his expression unreadable.

For just a moment, he let himself think that maybe, just maybe, there was something about that "shorty" that caught his attention. But Yoongi quickly shoved the thought aside, focusing back on his friends with a sigh.

Jungkook, however, remained silent, his mind still locked on Taehyung. He didn't know why, but something about that guy really got under his skin. And that, more than anything, pissed him off.
