The bell rang, and Hyuna rushed to the door, her face lighting up with excitement as she saw her son standing there.
“Ohhhhhh, my baby bear!” she squealed, pulling Taehyung into a tight hug. Her arms wrapped around him, warmth and love pouring out of her embrace.
"You're here!" she exclaimed, practically beaming as she called out to her husband.
“Daehyun! Look, our son is here!” Her voice echoed through the house, joyful and full of energy.
Within moments, Daehyun appeared, his eyes lighting up when he saw Taehyung.
"Son!" Daehyun’s voice was full of warmth as he hugged Taehyung tightly, giving him a firm pat on the back.
“It’s been so long! You should visit more often.”
Taehyung returned their greetings, hugging them back, but there was no smile, no light in his eyes.
His face remained neutral, his lips pressed into a thin line as he mumbled, “Hey, eomma, appa.” His voice was calm but distant, like he wasn’t fully there.
Hyuna frowned slightly but tried to brush it off. "Come in, come in!" she urged, guiding him inside.
“You must be so tired! I’ll make you something to eat, and we can catch up. We’ve missed you so much, sweetie.”
Taehyung nodded absently, his gaze drifting to the floor. "I'm fine, eomma. I don’t need anything right now.”
Daehyun stepped closer, placing a hand on Taehyung’s shoulder. "You okay, son? You look a bit pale. Are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah, I’m fine," Taehyung replied, his tone devoid of any real emotion. He avoided their concerned looks, his body language stiff.
“I just... I’m just tired. I’ll go to my room for a bit.”
Hyuna exchanged a quick glance with Daehyun, her worry deepening. “Alright, sweetheart, take your time. But you’ll come out for dinner, right? I’ll make your favorite.”
Taehyung nodded slightly, but his mind was far away. "Maybe," he whispered, turning towards his old room.
As he walked away, his parents watched him closely, both noticing how quiet and distant he seemed. This wasn’t the same lively Taehyung they were used to.
Daehyun sighed as he looked at Hyuna. “He doesn’t seem like himself.”
Hyuna folded her arms, her smile fading. “He looks so drained. Maybe he’s been studying too hard. Or something’s happened… He didn’t even smile, Daehyun.”
“I noticed,” Daehyun said quietly, his eyes following their son’s retreating figure. “We’ll talk to him later. Let him rest for now.”

Taehyung entered his room and shut the door behind him, letting out a shaky breath. The walls of his childhood space felt both comforting and suffocating at the same time.
He sat on the edge of his bed, staring blankly at the familiar furniture, the posters on the wall, the small mementos from better days.
But everything felt distant—like a part of a life he couldn’t connect with anymore.
His own apartment had started to bite at him, gnawing away with the memories of Jungkook that lingered everywhere.
The bed where they had spent countless nights together, the couch where they had laughed, the kitchen where they'd shared meals, and even the bathroom—all of it haunted him.
