At the bustling airport, the sound of announcements echoed around them, but Taehyung was oblivious, clinging to Tessa like a lifeline.

His voice dripped with mock sadness as he pouted, “Tess, I’m going to miss you so much. Who’s going to spoil me now?”

Tessa laughed, her eyes sparkling with affection as she pulled him into a tight squeeze.

“Oh, Tae bear, I promise to call you every day, okay? Now, no more sulking! I’ll be back before you know it!”

Just then, Taehyung’s parents joined in, wrapping their arms around Tessa in a warm embrace, their faces filled with pride and a hint of sadness.

“Take care, sweetheart,” Taehyung’s mother said softly, her voice laced with love and concern.

Tessa smiled back at them, her heart swelling with gratitude. “I will, Mom. Don’t worry. I’ll call often to check on you all.”

She stepped back, her gaze lingering on her family, knowing that distance couldn’t diminish their bond.

After saying goodbye to her family, Tessa turned to Jungkook, who was standing a little nervously, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

She raised an eyebrow playfully, a teasing smile on her lips. “And you, Jeon Jungkook, if you hurt my Tae bear again, I swear I’ll hunt you down. I know some very creative ways to make you regret it!”

Jungkook’s eyes widened comically, and he quickly put his hands up in surrender, a mock expression of terror on his face.

“I wouldn’t even dare, Irene! I’m on my best behavior now. Cross my heart!”

Tessa laughed, shaking her head, her playful demeanor infectious. “It’s Tessa, you loser! Get it right! You’re supposed to treat my brother like the precious gem he is, not a walking disaster!”

Jungkook grinned, his confidence returning. “I mean, he does make it easy sometimes with his mopey face.”

“Hey!” Taehyung interjected, feigning offense, though he couldn’t suppress the smile creeping onto his lips. “I happen to be very handsome when I mope!”

Both Tessa and Jungkook erupted into laughter, the playful banter creating a light-hearted moment that momentarily chased away the sadness of the farewell.

Taehyung watched them, his heart swelling with affection for both of them.

Tessa turned back to Taehyung for one last hug, wrapping her arms around him tightly.

“Take care of yourself, my little troublemaker. And for the love of all that is good, don’t get into too much mischief while I’m gone, okay?”

Taehyung grinned and hugged her back fiercely. “I promise, no trouble. I’ll be as good as gold. Just you wait!”

“Good! Because if I hear you’re being a bad boy, I’ll find a way to make it back here just to give you a stern talking-to!” Tessa winked, her laughter ringing in the air as she pulled away, her heart full yet bittersweet.

With a final wave, Tessa said her goodbyes to everyone, promising they’d stay in touch.

As she walked away, Taehyung and Jungkook headed back to Taehyung’s apartment, the air buzzing with a mix of nostalgia and excitement.

Once inside, Taehyung closed the door behind them, only for Jungkook to immediately pull him into a warm embrace, wrapping him up like a burrito.

Taehyung laughed, surprised. “What’s this sudden burst of affection?”
