Taehyung walked towards his apartment, his phone pressed to his ear as Jungkook’s voice filled the air.
“I miss you,” Jungkook said, his tone sulky and slightly dramatic.
Taehyung laughed softly. “It’s only been two hours since we saw each other,” he teased, but as soon as the words left his mouth, his mind drifted back to earlier, remembering how Jungkook had pecked his cheek before leaving the library. His face flushed at the thought, a smile tugging at his lips.
“I’m serious, Taehyung,” Jungkook continued on the other end, but just as Taehyung was about to respond, he heard someone approaching.
“Hello, Taehyung,” a voice called out.
Taehyung glanced up and his eyes lit up. “Hey, Chris!” he greeted, his tone bright. He completely forgot about the call for a moment, his attention now on the boy standing in front of him.
On the other end of the line, Jungkook’s mood shifted instantly. “How does he know Chris?” Jungkook muttered to himself, his possessive instincts kicking in.
His jaw clenched as his body tensed, memories of seeing Taehyung chatting with this guy from a distance flooding back.
Chris wasn’t exactly someone Jungkook trusted—he had a reputation.
Chris smiled at Taehyung, his eyes lingering a bit too long. “Where are you headed?”
“Oh, just walking home,” Taehyung answered casually, oblivious to the tension brewing on the other end of his phone.
Chris nodded. “I’m headed that way too. Mind if I walk you?”
And that’s when Jungkook saw red. He didn’t care about keeping it cool anymore. His voice dropped low, and though it was soft, it carried an unmistakable authority.
“Princess,” Jungkook said into the phone, his voice dark and laced with jealousy, “I need you to tell him that you need to go now...... alone.”
Taehyung’s heart fluttered immediately at the possessiveness in Jungkook’s tone. He knew Jungkook was jealous, and that knowledge sent a thrill through him.
A mischievous smile danced on Taehyung’s lips as he decided to have a little fun with it.
“Well, sure, Chris,” Taehyung said brightly, completely ignoring Jungkook’s demand. “You can walk with me.”
Jungkook’s voice came through the phone again, this time firmer and more urgent. “Taehyung!”
Taehyung bit back a laugh, finding Jungkook’s jealousy both adorable and exciting.
“Gotta go, Jungkook. See you later,” he said quickly, cutting the call before Jungkook could protest further.
Jungkook’s blood boiled the moment the line went dead. He poked his tongue into his cheek, his jaw tight as he tried to calm himself down, but the jealousy roared inside him, impossible to ignore.
The idea of Chris walking next to Taehyung, possibly trying to flirt with him, had Jungkook on edge.
His grip on his phone tightened as he debated whether he should storm over and make sure Taehyung knew exactly who he belonged to.
And we know what he must have chosen.
Within ten minutes, Jungkook found himself standing outside Taehyung's apartment, a rush of anticipation and jealousy pushing him forward.
His heart raced as he rang the doorbell, hands in his pockets to hide the impatience bubbling inside.
He wasn't about to admit he was jealous-no, he had to play it cool.
