The cafeteria buzzed with life as Taehyung and Jimin reunited after three days. They sat together, trays full of food, talking animatedly like they hadn’t seen each other in weeks. Jimin was telling about his date with Yoongi.
Taehyung nodded enthusiastically. “I’m so happy for you, Jimin. You two look cute together.”
Jimin gave a playful wink before shifting the topic. “So, what about you and Jungkook? You’ve spent three whole days with him. Tell me everything.”
At the mention of Jungkook, Taehyung’s face instantly flushed a delicate shade of pink. He ducked his head slightly, playing with the food on his plate.
“I-I mean, we just hung out. He brought me breakfast every morning, we played games, watched shows… nothing much.”
Jimin smirked, clearly amused by Taehyung’s reaction. “Nothing much, huh? You’re blushing, Tae. Blushing. Don’t tell me you’re falling for the infamous Jeon Jungkook?”
Taehyung opened his mouth to protest but before he could respond, he caught sight of Jungkook’s group approaching their table. His heart skipped a beat as butterflies filled his stomach.
Jungkook, looking effortlessly handsome, walked toward them with his friends in tow—Yoongi, Namjoon, and Hoseok. They greeted Jimin and Taehyung casually and took their seats.
Yoongi sat down next to Jimin, while Namjoon and Hoseok took spots across from them. Jungkook, of course, sat right next to Taehyung, their shoulders barely touching, but the contact was enough to send a shiver down Taehyung’s spine.
Taehyung tried to focus on his food, but the proximity made his heart race. He could feel Jungkook’s presence beside him, and he prayed that the blush creeping up his neck wasn’t too obvious.
“Taehyung, are you feeling better now?” Namjoon asked kindly, taking a sip of his drink.
Taehyung nodded, clearing his throat. “Yeah, I’m completely fine now. Thanks for asking.”
Jungkook, with a smug grin, leaned back in his chair. “Of course, Taehyung’s fine. I was the one taking care of him.”
Everyone laughed, but Taehyung turned a deeper shade of pink, ducking his head to avoid their teasing gazes.
Yoongi, sitting next to Jimin, observed quietly, his sharp eyes flickering between Taehyung and Jungkook. He hoped, deep down, that whatever Jungkook was doing was genuine—and not just because of that stupid dare.
As they all chatted and ate, the atmosphere lightened even more. It was clear that everyone was enjoying each other’s company. Once lunch ended, the group began to head off to their classes, leaving Taehyung and Jungkook alone in the hallway.
Taehyung, feeling a little flustered by Jungkook’s continued closeness, finally turned to him. “Why are you following me, Jeon?” he asked, trying to sound annoyed but failing to hide the faint smile tugging at his lips.
Jungkook, with a nonchalant shrug, simply replied, “Because I want to.” He flashed that signature smirk, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, but a part of him enjoyed the attention. As they walked side by side toward Taehyung’s class, they couldn’t help but notice the stares they were getting.
Whispers and curious glances followed them down the hall. It was clear that no one could believe the sight of Jungkook and Taehyung—two people from completely different circles—walking together, talking so casually.
Some girls even exchanged jealous looks, their eyes filled with envy as they watched Jungkook’s attention so clearly focused on Taehyung.
But Taehyung tried to ignore it, focusing instead on the sound of Jungkook’s steps beside him, their shoes making soft echoes in the hallway.
