Taehyung and Jimin sat at their usual table in the cafeteria, trays of lunch in front of them. Taehyung absentmindedly poked at his food, lost in his thoughts.
He hadn’t seen Jungkook for about a week, not since that day when he was making out with some girl shamelessly in the hallway. And though he wasn’t one to dwell on things, he found himself occasionally thinking about it.
Jimin, on the other hand, was busy talking about the upcoming volleyball match, his excitement barely contained.
“Yoongi and Jungkook have been practicing like crazy for that match,” he said, taking a bite of his sandwich. “I swear, they’re going to crush the other team.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. “Jeon's playing?”
Jimin nodded. “Yep. He’s the captain of the team, one of the best players. Yoongi too. Haven’t you heard? Everyone’s talking about it.”
Taehyung shrugged, trying to act disinterested. “I’m not really into sports, you know that.”
Jimin gave him a skeptical look. “Oh, come on. You’re really not going to watch? It’s going to be a big deal. Half the school will be there, and it’s not like we get these events every day.”
“I’m not interested,” Taehyung replied, a little too quickly, though the slightest hint of hesitation crept into his voice. He fiddled with his chopsticks, pretending to focus on his lunch.
Jimin wasn’t convinced, his sharp eyes narrowing at his best friend. “You sure? Not even a little bit curious to see someone play?” He said, a playful smirk forming on his lips.
Taehyung’s face remained neutral, but internally, he couldn’t deny it. Maybe he was a bit curious… about someone in particular.
A flash of Jungkook, all confidence and smirks, crossed his mind. He quickly brushed the thought aside. “I’m not interested, Jimin.”
“Really? Because it kinda seems like you are,” Jimin teased, poking him lightly with his elbow.
Taehyung gave Jimin a deadpan look. “I’m not. Trust me, there’s no way I’d waste my time watching Jeon.”
Jimin stifled a laugh, clearly enjoying this a little too much. “Sure, sure. Just a little interest, right? Like, not too much. Maybe you want to see how good he looks in his jersey? Or, I dunno, how he handles the ball?”
Taehyung’s eyes widened slightly, feeling heat rise to his cheeks. “Shut up, Jimin,” he muttered, trying to suppress the growing embarrassment.
Jimin grinned. “Hey, I’m just saying. I’ve seen the way you act around him. You guys have this weird vibe.”
“There’s no vibe,” Taehyung snapped, though his voice wasn’t as sharp as he intended. He sighed, pushing his tray away.
“Fine. Maybe I’ll stop by for a bit, just to see what all the hype is about.”
Jimin’s grin widened. “Knew it. I’ll save you a seat.”
Taehyung rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair. He wasn’t going to admit it, but deep down, there was a small part of him that was curious to see Jungkook in action. Just… a little bit.

The atmosphere in the locker room was intense, with Jungkook standing in the center of his team. The energy was high, but there was still that edge of nervousness as the match was about to begin. Jungkook clapped his hands, catching everyone’s attention.
"Alright, guys. This is our moment," he said, his voice strong and confident.
"We’ve trained hard, and we’re not going to let anyone stand in our way today. Trust each other, play smart, and most importantly, give it your all. No regrets. Got it?"
