I don't mind spending everyday, out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with a broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved, and she will be lovedFluttering my eyes open I listen to the lyrics of "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 play through my alarm clock speakers. I take in a deep breath as I stare at the ceiling of my room.
Today is the first day of my last year in high school and here I am debating if I want to go or not. Sighing, I sit up with my back press against the headboard and look around my semi-messy room.I really need to clean my room. I wonder if mom would let me skip school to clean my room?
Before I can contemplate any further my mother walks into my room making me jump at the unexpected entrance.
"Lillian dear, it's time to get up."
I nod at her as I pull the blanket off of me and stand up to walk to the bathroom.
Yawning I step inside the bathroom and turn on the light. The first thing I see is myself in the mirror and the major thing that sticks out is the awfully large bags under my eyes. I let out a small sigh and strip to begin taking a quick shower.
The shower was about fifteen minutes long. The only thing that made me get out was the fact I had to get to school in less than fifteen minutes. Once I dry off, I start to get ready, which includes brushing my teeth and putting on my makeup. I wrap my towel tightly around my body before opening the bathroom door and walking into my room. I decide to wear something simple such as a black t-shirt, black skinny jeans and my black vans.
After I finish getting dress I blow dry my black hair and place it into a high ponytail afterwards.
I sigh as I finish putting my hair into a high ponytail and sliding on my glasses. As I walk out of my room I turn off the light and grab my bag that was hanging on the door. I walk downstairs and straight into the kitchen, where my mother was and standing over the stove."Well look who's finally out of her room." She says while placing a plate of scrambled eggs with bacon on the table.
I pick up the plate and grab a fork off the table that's beside my apple juice. I start eating silently as my mother sits at the table."Are you excited for the first day of your senior year?" She asks while sending a small smile my way. I let out a small laugh before answering her.
"I know I'm excited to graduate and be done with high school."
My mother knows that I never liked going to school. The only reason that I'm still going is so that I won't be counted as a failure in life. She knows that I wasn't very popular and I wasn't very known in school, even though I've been going there for my whole high school years.
My mother let out a sigh as I place the half empty plate down on the table and take one last gulp from my apple juice."Well I hope today goes well sweetheart. I know you'll make it through the day because you're a very strong girl."
I smile at her and place the glass on the table."I should get going because I have to get my schedule, but I'll see you when I get home from work. Thanks for the breakfast."
After thanking my mum for breakfast I walk out of the kitchen and straight to the front door. I grab the house keys off the small table by the door and walk out of the house.
As I walk out of the house, I take a deep breath and walk to the street from the front porch.
Since it was the first day of school I decide to walk instead of drive even though it's blazing hot out here being that school started in the dead middle of the summer.
The school wasn't far from my house, but it wasn't as close either. All in all it's about a five minute walk.
Finally the school was in sight, after walking for what seems like forever, makes me let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Our school wasn't as huge as people thought. The school was simple. A gymnasium with the football field beside it, the main building, the auditorium, the library, the cafeteria and the art building a.k.a my favorite building. The main building was one big building that had three smaller buildings attach to it. The east wing, the west wing and the south wing.
Sighing as I step foot on the campus I clutch my bag that was hanging off my shoulder tightly and instantly snap my head down and look at the walkway in front of me. The inner me was saying "Keep your head up you doofus. You'll make it worst if you bump into someone." Knowing that my inner thought was right, I slowly drag my head up and lock my eyes on the front entrance. The closer I got to the entrance, the louder I can hear my heart pound in my ears. Once I got in front of the door I closed my eyes before reopening them and taking a deep breath, pushing the door open in the process.Oh here we go
