(Updated, 2018)

Halfway through Friday and I'm excited to get out of here.

The rest of the week flew by which happens most of the time I have an interaction with Luke, but every time we do have an interaction he avoids me for however long. It sucks really but of course I'm just a nobody and he's Luke.
As I make my way to art as usual I hear a lot of chatter about this party tonight. Usually around this time, within the first two weeks of school, Ashton throws a party. It's a "welcome back to school" party but it's probably just like the rest of his parties. Drinking and people grinding on people. Just thinking about that makes me gag. Parties are not my thing. All those sweaty people grinding against something or someone. All the alcohol and bad choices.

Yea no thanks.

Making it into the art room I instantly walk to the back table. Calum was already sitting there typing away on his phone and smiling.

"Well what's got you so smiley Cal?" I say as I place my bag onto the floor and my notebook down on the table. He laughs as he shakes his head.

"Nothing really. I'm just excited for this party tonight. I could really use a drink." He replies as he puts his phone in his pocket and turning his attention to me.

"Are you going?" He asks.
I scoffs and shake my head, rolling my eyes as well.

"Of course not. Who would want me at a party and on top of that I hate parties. As you can tell I'm not a party person. I'm not a person person actually." I ramble to him. He laughs at me before speaking once again.

"Oh come on. You're a senior for God sake. A party is in order for you."

"Oh no. No. No. I am not going to Ashton's party tonight. I'm too awkward to do anything and I will know not a single soul at that party." I exclaim while the bell rings. Mrs.Smiths closes the door and claps her hands together.

"Well class since you all have been doing so well for the past two weeks, you can all have a free drawing day! It will be for a class grade though and I expect it by the end of class. Have fun!" She says while walking over to her desk and working on her computer.
I pull out my notebook and start to draw something simply, such as the sun setting over a beach.

"As I was going to say you would have me and your friend Justin would probably come if you beg him into going." Calum continues as he starts working on his drawing.

"No. I have to work tonight then Justin and I are going to walk around the park."
Calum scoffs as he starts shading in whatever he was drawing.

"I call bullshit on the walking around the park act, but if you work until whatever time you could probably still make it to the party." He elaborates while rolling his eyes and glancing up at me.

"Yea I work until ten on Friday and then usually I go home and either read or watch Netflix. Another thing I don't have party clothes." I explain.

"Jeans and a T-Shirt. How hard is that?"

I stop drawing and give Calum a 'what did you just say look'. He notices my paused movement and looks up from his drawing. He raises an eyebrow at me before speaking.

"Did I say something?" He states while our eyes stay locked into each other's. Instead of saying something I just shake my head and go back to my drawing. Calum lets out a laugh before turning back to his drawing. We sit in silence before he spoke again.

"Another reason you should come is because everyone would be so shocked to see you there."

"That's another reason why I'm not going. Attention." I say while cringing at the word 'attention'. He huffs while he grabs a color pencil and begin filling in his drawing.

"Oh please. You'll be fine. Just go. It will be fun. You're going to your first year twelve party." He says excitedly.

"Sure so I can make a total fool out of myself and everyone remembers until we graduate. Yea. No thank you." I shake my head once again while grabbing some color pencils and begin to color in my sun.

"Okay. I've made a fool out of myself plenty times before, but I'm still going. You live and you learn, Lilly." He tells me. I place my color pencil down and look at him. He stops as well and looks at me again just like a few moments ago.

"Well I want to hear how you embarrassed yourself." I tell him while propping my elbows on the table and resting my head on the back of my hands.

"My second party I've ever been to, I threw back my twelfth vodka shot and threw up into a indoor plant pot with my girlfriend at the time watching. Then I insisted on having a dance off with Michael in the middle of the living room while everyone watched and hyped us up. Then I ended up taking another shot and blacked out so I don't remember the rest of the night to this day."
I stared at him with a wide eyed expression. I couldn't think of anything to say, but I assumed my face said it all. Calum just let out a small laugh with a light shrug.

"Like I say you live and you learn. You especially learn how much alcohol your body can handle. You would like it though so you should come." He says while picking his color pencil back up and finishing his drawing up. I copied his actions before replying.

"Even though your story made me feel better, I'm still not going." I say while turning my full attention to my drawing again.

"Can I ask you a question?" He asks as we continue to work on our class assignment.

"You just did." I tell him while laughing at myself quietly. I hear him let out a small laugh before continuing.

"If the boys and I bring in a couple of CDs for the party to the music store tonight, can you burn all of them onto one CD?" He asks.

"How many CDs are we talking? I think the max amount of CDs you could burn onto a blank CD is about ten." I state as I finish coloring the picture. I tear it out of my notebook just in time for Mrs.Smith to come by to collects the drawings.

"Well these are very lovely you two. I'm impressed." She comments while taking our papers and walking off.
As soon as she walks off the bell rings dismissing everyone from class. I stand from my seat and toss my bag over my shoulder. Calum copies my action as I start to head towards the door with him behind me.

"So the party?" Calum asks as we make it into the hall and start walking to my locker.

"No. I'm not going and that's final." I tell him as we enter the main building. He groans while we continue to make our way to my locker. We continue to bicker about me going to this party until we make it to my locker.

"Please." He says while dragging out the end making me release a huge puff of air.

"Oh my God, Calum I'm not going to that stupid party just to make bad decision and destroy my brain cells."
He scoffs while rolling his eyes.

"I will not take that personal." He states.

I close my locker and turn to face him.

"Well just know this isn't over."

"Cal, I know this isn't over."

That's because it's just getting started.
