I don't like school even more now.

The bell just rung dismissing us from English. I didn't even get to pack up fully because Justin tugged me out of the English room. So now Justin is basically dragging me down the hallway and I'm trying to keep up with an heavy English book in my hand.
As Justin and I paced down the hallway, I couldn't help but notice all the stares that was thrown towards my way. I feel the heat make its way to my cheeks as we continue to make our way to the library.

"Justin slow down. My steps are so small compared to yours." I complain while we make it out of the building and to the library.

"No I'm ready to gossip." He states while we quickly make it to the library. Geez this is probably that fastest I have ever walked to the library.
Once we make it into the library we sit at our usual table and Justin waits for me to begin.

"Where do you want me to start?"

"From the begin." He states while placing his hands on the table. I let out a sigh and begin to tell him what happened. From the time I ran to the football field to the time I ran to my car. I told him about how Luke was being strangely nice to me and the pleasant moment we shared. Justin seemed shocked at Luke actions but he didn't say anything until I finished. In all it took about twenty minutes to explain.

"It's sounds to me that Luke cares a lot about you." Justin states with a small grin at the end. I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"No not at all. He was just trying to be a friend. I guess. I don't even think he was trying to be a friend. He was just apologizing for what his girlfriend did." I say while throwing air quotes around girlfriend. He lets out a chuckle.

"No I'm serious Lil. I think Luke has interest in you." He states as continues to press the subject. I shake my head at that absolutely insane thought.

"No. You said it for yourself that he's probably just trying to get in my head to get in my pants."
He sighs before shaking his head.

"Yea I thought that before, but now with all this stuff happening it honestly sounds like he very protective over you and that he really cares for you." Justin says in realization. Once again I shake my head.

"No. He doesn't care for me. He's not protective over me either."

"Then explain why he ran after you instead of letting Calum or I go. Before I could even think about going out after you, I see Luke a good two feet behind you."

Really?

"Well like I said to apologize for his girlfriend childish act and plus you and Calum were occupied fussing at Maddie." I state with another shrug while turning my attention away from Justin. He groans at my stubbornness as we sit in silence for a couple of minutes.

"Lilly, why is it so hard to believe that Luke might actually care for you?"

"Have you seen me Justin? I'm a nobody. He said it himself. I'm nothing he's interested in. He wouldn't even waste his time trying to care for me. I'm surprised you even-

"Don't you dare finish that sentence. You are my best friend of course I care for you." Justin says as he cuts me off. I let out a big sigh as I place my head into my hands.

"I'm sorry. I just can't think of having someone care for me besides my mum." I mumble through my hands.

"Why?"
I sigh not really wanting to spill out everything in the school library.

"Well I've just been to myself for so long and it's just hard to have all of this new attention towards me. I guess I just have to get use to it." I end with a shrug. Justin lets out a sigh before sending his long fingers through his hair. He looks up at me and sends me a small smile. I return one to him before turning away from him and sighing once more.
As the class continues on Justin and I just talks about what happened in the Cafe after I sprinted out. He said that after I left that Calum came over to Maddie fuming and calling her all sorts of names.

"Oh he called her many things I never heard before. I didn't know that there's that many words in the dictionary." He tells me while letting out a muffled laugh. I copied his actions as we kept catching mean glares from the librarian. Before I could reply the bell rings dismissing us. We both stand, still laughing away as we make our way out of the library and to the car lot.

"That was probably the funniest free period I ever had in my life. I don't think I ever laughed this much." I say while Justin nods in agreement. He let out another chuckle which makes me giggle once again making him full out laugh again, sending me into another laughing fit as well. We laugh at nothing in particular as we make it to our cars.

"What are you doing tomorrow around six?" Justin asks as we both calm down.

"Um, nothing. Do you want to do something?"
He nods as he fish his keys to his car out of his pocket.

"Yea. I was wondering if you wanted to go catch a movie or something because my mum won't be home and I refuse to stay home." He asks, unlocking his car.

"Sure I don't have anything else to do so that should be fun." I reply while sending him a small smile as he got into his car.

"I'll text you more about it later. See you around." He finishes while starting his car and pulling out of the parking lot. I grin as I walk over to the driver side of my car and hop in. I look over the student in the parking lot and as it seems my eyes landed on Luke and Maddie instantly which made my heart fall. They were talking intently before Maddie turns to look away from him. Her eyes quickly found mine and another one of her devilish smiles made it's way onto her face. She turns back to Luke and smash her lips onto his making him stumble back a bit. He quickly regained his balance then placed his hands on her waist pulling her closer. I tear my gaze away from them and start my car.

So much for caring, right?

--

After what happened in the school parking lot, I was quite happy to get to work. I'm tired of seeing Maddie's bratty face. I'm tired of seeing Luke. I'm just tired of that school period. Every time I go back, the thought of dropping out becomes a bigger possibility.
Sighing, I continue to sweep around the store to the beat of music that's playing lowly.

I never noticed how badly this store needed to be cleaned.

Hearing something pop makes me snap out of my thoughts and look around. I look at the back of the store and then back to the front. I then look at the ceiling and see that one of the light bulbs blew. I sigh as I sweep the dirt into the dust pan. I walk over to the supply closet to grab an light bulb and the mini ladder. I set up the ladder and climb to the certain light bulb that was giving me problems and changed it. Once I placed the new light bulb in the socket, it flickered on making me smile in satisfaction. I climb off the ladder and discard the busted light in the trash before walking over to the supply closet to put away the mini ladder. As I was putting the mini ladder away I hear the bell on the door ding. I walk out of the supply closet and straighten out my shirt as I make my way to the front door. Stopping as I make it to the front, my breath catches in my throat.

"Hello Beautiful."
