Luke's P.O.V

When Lilly asked me that question, I froze. Only because I haven't talked this deep about Samantha in over a year. Just the thought of her sometimes makes a sharp pain pierce through my heart. The same piercing pain I never thought Samantha would put me through. The same pain I felt when she pressed her lips to Ryan.

"Um well we first met at my official first guitar lesson. I've been teaching myself guitar before that, but when I first saw her I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. It was the first month of year eight."

"Mom, I've changed my mind. I don't want to play guitar." A scrawny Luke tells his already irritated mother.

"Luke Robert, you are going in here and taking these lessons. You've begged me ever since the beginning of the summer plus it will help with your skills you already have." She tells her nervous son. Luke, who was nibbling on his already nubby fingernails walked behind his mother as they entered the guitar lesson center. He stayed closely behind her as she talked to the man at the front desk. The man and Mrs.Hemmings talked for about a good ten minutes before Luke's mother grabbed his wrist and pulled him along. They followed the man from behind the desk to a nice sized room. Luke looked around as he walked around. He saw all these nice guitars hanging neatly on the wall, he saw this amazing all black bass guitar with a red X painted across the body, he also saw this neat drum kit that confused him a small bit because he never understood how to play the drums. As he continued to look around the room his eyes landed on a young girl that looked around his age. She had slick blonde hair and rich blue eyes. She had small freckles running across her cheeks and nose. She had a set of metal braces on her teeth and was wearing a pink dress. Luke quickly looked away before he even thought about being caught by her for staring. He looked over at his mother who was chatting now with a lady who looked about the same age as her.

"Luke sweetie go take a seat by the young lady in the pink dress. I'm talking to your instructor now and she'll be with you right after I finish signing some papers." Mrs.Hemmings told Luke while wavering him off and turning back to the lady in front of her. Luke felt his stomach drop and his palms get sweaty. He looked over at the girl again only to find her staring at him. She smiles at Luke making a small lump appear in his throat. He slowly made his way over to her with his weak legs and took a seat beside her making sure to leave some space between them. He saw out of the corner of his eye that she turned to look at him. He slowly turned his head to face her and saw that she was looking at him.

"Hello." She said with a smile, flashing her braces in the process. Luke swallowed the lump that appeared in his throat again before speaking.

"H-Hi." He stuttered out while his face turned red. The girl smiled before letting a small giggle.

"I'm Samantha. You can call me Sammy or Sam. Either one doesn't matter." Samantha told Luke.

"I-I'm Luke."

I tell Lilly how Samantha and I met and you can see it in her eyes, she regrets asking me the question.

"So when did you two start dating?" She asks as she fumbles with her polished nails. I raise an eyebrow as a smirk falls onto my face.

"How did you know we dated? She could have just been a friend that I fell in love with?" I said without thinking. The word 'love' effortlessly slips off my tongue like its nothing. I haven't said that word since my mom had to go on a business trip about a year ago.
