Seokmin felt an overwhelming sense of peace, like a heavy weight finally lifting after endless sleepless nights and relentless prayers.

He watched Joshua, who was curled up under the white sheets, his golden hair spilling over his face and shielding him from the morning sun.

In that quiet moment, everything seemed to fall into place. Joshua was his, completely and without any lingering secrets or obstacles.

They were as open and clear with each other as water, and for the first time in a long while, Seokmin felt truly at ease.

Seokmin leaned back against the bedpost, his gaze fixed on Joshua’s serene expression. The room was bathed in a soft, warm light that seemed to reflect the calm he now felt.

The chaos and struggle of the past seemed a distant memory, overshadowed by this tranquil scene.

Joshua stirred slightly, his lips curving into a faint, contented smile even in his sleep. Seokmin couldn’t help but smile in return, feeling a swell of affection.

He reached out and gently brushed a strand of Joshua’s hair from his face, his fingers lingering for a moment on the soft skin of his cheek.

The sense of completion was almost surreal. For so long, Seokmin had been battling against invisible barriers, his heart weighed down by uncertainty and hidden truths.

But now, with Joshua beside him and the promise of a future without shadows, it felt like a new beginning.

"Staring is rude," Joshua murmured, peeking at Seokmin with one eye open, the other still closed.

His lips curled into a playful smile, revealing his pearly teeth and making his cheeks puff out adorably.

“Good morning, sunshine,” Seokmin greeted softly, his gaze lingering on Joshua, who was propped up on his elbows, looking up at him with a sleepy smile.

“Morning,” Joshua murmured, his voice still heavy with sleep. Seokmin couldn’t suppress the chuckle that escaped him, his heart swelling at the sight of Joshua’s adorableness.

Joshua is adorable.

“Why are you laughing?” Joshua tilted his head, his golden locks falling to the side as he raised an eyebrow at Seokmin.

“Nothing,” Seokmin replied, a smile stretching across his face.

“You should smile more; you look so pretty when you do,” Joshua said suddenly. Seokmin’s smile faltered momentarily before settling into a more understanding expression.

“I will from now on,” Seokmin promised.

“From now on? You didn’t smile before?” Joshua asked, a hint of confusion in his voice.

“I didn’t have any reason to,” Seokmin admitted, his gaze softening. “But now, you’re my reason to smile. I like to smile because you like my smile.”

Joshua’s cheeks flushed a deep red, and he giggled. “You’re so cheesy,” he said, mockingly offended, though his eyes sparkled with affection.

Seokmin shrugged, pulling Joshua closer and wrapping his arms around his bare lower back. They hadn’t bothered to dress after last night, only the boxers shielding their privacy.

“Only for you, Mia cara,” Seokmin said, his voice tender as he gently threaded his fingers through Joshua’s hair, pushing it back before pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

Joshua’s smile widened as he nestled closer into Seokmin’s embrace, savoring the warmth and intimacy of the moment.

The lingering remnants of the night before seemed to wrap around them like a comforting blanket.
