“Lilies? Which ones?”
“White... pure ones,” Seokmin replied, fastening the belt across his waist while placing the phone on speaker.
“Okay, sir. Anything else?” John's voice crackled through the line.
Seokmin grabbed a small perfume bottle, spraying it over his chest and wrists.
“Bring the strawberry candies for me and chocolates for Chan. Also, head straight to the airport; someone is coming.” He ended the call, cracking his neck softly as he studied his reflection in the mirror.
He was preparing for breakfast with everyone, and the guests’ arrival was just around the corner.
A sense of anticipation buzzed in the air as he adjusted his collar, making sure he looked impeccable for the occasion.
It was the day of their wedding, the evening sun dipping low on the horizon while the moon rose, casting a silvery glow over everything—a perfect backdrop for the new life Seokmin and Joshua were about to begin together.
Seokmin felt overwhelmed, emotions swirling inside him like a storm. How could he articulate everything he felt?
Joy bubbled beneath the surface, a profound happiness that he finally had Joshua by his side, just as he’d always wanted.
For the first time, Seokmin felt unburdened, yet as he gulped and blinked away the sting in his eyes, he realized just how fragile that happiness was.
Joshua had come into his life like a balm, healing wounds Seokmin hadn’t even known he carried. But with that healing came a deep sense of responsibility; the thought of ever hurting Joshua again haunted him like a persistent ghost.
He would never be able to forgive himself for the moments that had shattered his healer’s spirit.
The memories of Joshua's frightened face haunted Seokmin in the dead of night, a reminder of the pain he had caused. What if Joshua woke up one day and decided enough was enough?
The idea sent chills down Seokmin’s spine. The thought of losing Joshua, the person who had chosen to stay with him despite everything, was unbearable. How could he survive such a loss?
Yet, the very fact that Joshua was still there, still choosing him day after day, was a testament to the depth of their love.
It was a reminder of how lucky Seokmin was, how blessed he had become after a lifetime of misfortune. He had been given a second chance, a chance to love and be loved in return.
Seokmin would be ready to drop to his knees in front of Joshua, to offer everything he had, to show him just how deeply he cherished him.
He wanted Joshua to know that he would move heaven and earth to protect him, to keep him safe and happy.
Seokmin's devotion ran deeper than words could express; it was a vow etched into the very core of his being. Joshua was not just his partner; he was his salvation, his everything.
As they stood on the precipice of forever, Seokmin vowed to be the man Joshua deserved, to nurture the love they had built together, no matter the storms they might face.
He recalled the first time he met Joshua—those striking doe eyes, full of life and laughter, pulling Seokmin in like a moth to a flame.
He remembered the way Joshua had effortlessly slipped into his heart, lighting up the darkness that had once consumed him.
It was a bittersweet recollection; Seokmin could still feel the weight of his past, the scars that marked his soul, but he also felt the warmth of Joshua’s unwavering love—a love that had transformed him, made him whole.
