The rain tapped relentlessly against the large window, streams of water trailing down the glass as Jihoon sat with a steaming cup of coffee in his hands.
The cool weather outside was a stark contrast to the warmth inside, a comforting embrace he desperately needed when life felt like too much.
He gazed out into the downpour, his mind wandering to how peaceful everything once was—before a man with piercing, small eyes had walked into his life, turning it upside down.
It all started when Jihoon saved him from death, a mistake he now regretted.
Maybe if he’d just let him die, his life wouldn’t be spiraling into chaos now, every day more difficult than the last.
Jihoon took a slow sip of his coffee, letting the bitter warmth calm his frayed nerves.
But the taste couldn’t drown out the thoughts that haunted him—the weight of every reckless choice, every reckless word exchanged with the man who now occupied too much space in his life.
He didn’t ask for this; he didn’t ask for the burden of another’s darkness merging with his own.
Jihoon’s throat tightened. Kwon Soonyoung was a storm waiting to destroy—dangerous, venomous, and with a darkness that could easily consume him.
Jihoon knew better, knew his heart had no business falling for someone like Soonyoung.
It was a reckless path leading only to disappointment and inevitable heartbreak, especially once Seokmin or Seungcheol found out.
His brothers would rip Soonyoung apart for even daring to set his sights on Jihoon, never mind pulling him into the abyss of his affection.
Soonyoung was a temptation Jihoon couldn’t resist.
An obsession that devoured him whole.
An addiction that would never let go.
“You look tense, what’s wrong?” The soft whisper brushed against Jihoon’s ear, making him flinch.
He turned his head sharply, eyes landing on Soonyoung sitting far too close beside him.
Their faces were mere inches apart, Soonyoung’s piercing gaze pinning Jihoon in place.
Jihoon’s eyes flickered to Soonyoung’s lips, pierced and tempting, and he swallowed hard.
“How did you get in? I locked the door… And I’m not tense,” Jihoon muttered, running a hand over his forehead, trying to mask his nerves.
He turned his gaze away, refusing to meet Soonyoung’s steady stare that seemed to see right through his every lie.
Soonyoung’s eyes didn’t waver, his expression unreadable, yet there was a hint of amusement dancing in the way his lips curled.
He leaned in closer, his presence overwhelming, the scent of rain and something dangerously familiar clinging to him.
“You always lock the door,” Soonyoung said titling his head, his voice almost a purr, daring Jihoon to question how easily he bypassed any barrier. “But you know I don’t need an invitation.”
Jihoon clenched his jaw, refusing to let the shiver running down his spine show.
Soonyoung’s presence was a constant intrusion, a reminder of how little control Jihoon had over this chaotic pull between them.
“Stop sneaking in like this,” Jihoon said, his voice low, strained, as he kept his eyes firmly fixed on the rain outside. “I don’t need you here.”
