Kisame.
Something had changed.
Kisame could feel it. He could smell it. It was very fishy.
Itachi and Kuina-chan had returned to the hideout but something definitely had changed. His radar had never been wrong.
First of all, they had been away from the hideout for a few weeks when they said they were going to go on a date for a few days. What could happen when a handsome man and a pretty girl travel together, all alone, in the desolate? Even the dumbest person could answer that.
A lot of things could have happened in a few days, let's not get started in a few weeks. And at that point, Kisame was positive that they didn't go on a date. They went on a honeymoon.
They both really did attempt to act normal upon their return, which Kisame thought was ridiculous, after all, rumours had already spread throughout the horizon of their scandalous little romance. It was even more comical when they denied things with a straight face, whilst Kuina-chan having all those terrible, terrible little mosquito bites in plain sight.
But then again, of course, Kisame could not be so sure unless he asked them directly. Though, admittedly, that would not be an easy task.
Getting Itachi to speak to him about normal everyday topics like the weather was already hard enough, so interrogating him about his personal matters? Even the likes of Kisame admitted defeat. Thus, Kisame was left with no choice but to interrogate Kuina-chan.
Admittedly, Kisame did not want to do that, she was always so easily frightened. Whenever he brought up the topic, she would get all embarrassed and scared, and he didn't want to scare her. She was his best friend after all. But since she was his best friend, it was his responsibility to make sure that she would have a smooth sailing relationship and only he was fit to advise her.
Itachi and Kuina must have been back from their honeymoon for around a week when Itachi and Kisame received a mission from Pein. On the day of the mission, to Kisame's luck, he ran into Kuina-chan in the kitchen, preparing some food, which was a very rare scene.
"Good morning, Kuina-chan," Kisame started his interrogation as he scanned his eyes over her face, watching as she concentrated hard on making what seemed to be a bento box. "Are you cooking up something? I've never seen you using the kitchen before."
At his words, she quickly looked up at him, and she instantly looked flustered. "O-Oh, I'm just a little bored, so I wanted to try something new for fun."
Kisame nodded slowly, a smile coming over his face. "Well, if you ever need any help with it, you can always just ask me," he told her. "You know, I've always been cooking for you, you and Itachi, I mean. I know what you like, I also know what Itachi really really likes, what kind of food makes him really really happy, you know. So, if you wanna know, you can always ask me, Kuina-chan. I'll share with you all of my recipes," He spoke with a soft laugh, trying to make his words sound smooth.
