THIRD PERSON POV
The sun was shining brightly in the office, but inside, the atmosphere was tense. Stacey and Heather sat across from each other at the dining table, their parents seated next to them. The topic of conversation was a family vacation to La Union, and Heather could already sense where this was going.
"Okay, so we've decided to go on a vacation to La Union!" Heather's father announced, his voice cheerful. "And you two will join us!"
Heather's expression twisted into disbelief. "Ha?! With her? Yuck! Ayoko!"
Stacey, on the other hand, wore an innocent smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Sus, ang OA mo, nak. You two should get along. It'll be fun!"
Heather shot her a glare, feeling the irritation bubble up inside her. "Fun? Are you kidding me? The last thing I want is to spend a whole trip with you, Stacey!"
"Tito Florantez is right, Heather," Stacey chimed in, batting her eyelashes as she looked at Heather's dad. "It'll be a bonding experience! We can even surf together."
"Exactly! You two need to settle your differences. This trip will be good for you," Heather's father insisted, completely oblivious to the tension in the room.
Heather crossed her arms defiantly, her frustration clear. "But why do I have to be stuck with her? There are plenty of other people I'd rather hang out with!"
Stacey leaned back in her chair, a playful smirk on her lips. "What's the matter, Heather? Afraid I'll steal the spotlight from you?"
Heather's glare intensified. "This isn't about spotlight, Stacey. I just can't stand your—"
"—charm?" Stacey interjected, her tone teasing.
"—annoying presence!" Heather finished, her cheeks flushing with anger.
"Come on, Heather," Stacey's mother chimed in, trying to diffuse the situation. "You'll have a great time. Just think of it as an adventure!"
Heather sighed dramatically, throwing her head back. "An adventure with my worst enemy? Yeah, that sounds like a nightmare!"
Stacey's smile only grew wider. "Or maybe a love story waiting to happen!"
"Ew! Stop!" Heather exclaimed, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks. "There's no way that's happening!"
'charot' heather thought, her cheeks turn red.
"Seriously, you two need to loosen up," her father said, chuckling. "It'll be fun, and you'll both be glad you went."
Heather felt trapped as Stacey continued to check her out, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "Baka naman mag-enjoy ka rin, Heather. I mean, what's not to like about spending time with me?"
