THIRD PERSON POV

AT KYLA'S OFFICE | FERNANDEZ COMPANY

The ticking of the clock echoed through the room, tension thick in the air.

Kyla stood near her desk, arms crossed tightly, frustration evident on her face. Her tone was sharp but calm — the kind of calm that made people even more nervous.

"You had one job, Ms. Perez... ONE job," she said, her brows furrowed, eyes cold.

The employee — a young woman in her early twenties — was practically trembling.

"I-I'm sorry po, Ms. Fernandez... I didn't mean to—"

Kyla sighed heavily, her fingers pinching the bridge of her nose before massaging her temples. She clearly wasn't in the mood to hear excuses today.

"Do you even understand how important that presentation was? Investors don't come here to watch people fumble with their slides."

Ms. Perez kept her head down. "Opo... I understand. It won't happen again."

Kyla inhaled, then slowly exhaled, trying to control her temper. "Make sure it doesn't. You're on thin ice. Isa pa, and you're out."

The girl nodded quickly, bowing before quietly exiting the room. As soon as the door shut behind her, Kyla slumped into her chair, letting out another sigh — this one more tired than angry.

Her eyes drifted to the city skyline outside her tall office windows. The day had only just begun, and she was already drained.

She reached for her phone and muttered, "Gelo, bring me coffee. Strong one. No sugar."

A few seconds later, Gelo responded through her office intercom. "On the way, boss. Also, the new assistant manager is waiting for your signature on the budget report."

Kyla groaned quietly to herself. "Another one?"

She didn't even realize how tired her voice sounded until she heard it herself.

Just as she was about to lean back, the door opened.

Cassandra stepped into the office with a bright smile, holding a bouquet of white tulips and a small box of artisanal chocolates.

"Surprise!" she chirped, walking in as if she owned the place. "I heard you had a rough week... akala ko baka gusto mong ma-cheer up."

Kyla blinked at her, sitting up straighter in her chair. "Cass? Anong ginagawa mo dito? You can't just walk into my office like that."

Cassandra pouted playfully, setting the flowers and chocolates on Kyla's desk.
"Ay, grabe. Ganun ba 'yon ngayon? Hindi na ako welcome?"

Kyla sighed again, but this time with a hint of restraint.
"Hindi sa ganun... just—security is tight. You can't just show up."
