PENN'S POV
Turns out, Elijah heard our argument, so embarrassing and he told me it was okay if I wanted to cancel, but I didn't want to. I wanted to forget about the fight, because if I thought about it I'd cry. So, I did exactly what Kristen had advised me to do.
Elijah and I had been hanging out ever since that night El snuck out to see Daniel and came back disoriented. It was no surprise I liked him, I think he knew, but all our conversations so far have been friendly. Elijah is very attractive, so attractive that I couldn't believe it when Elodie said otherwise.
I wanted to look good for him. With everything going downhill, I needed a distraction.
The honking of a horn alerted me that he was outside. I made my way into his car, pulling him into a brief hug after locking the front door of the house.
Penn: Hey, Eli
Elijah: Wassup, You look nice
I smile, feeling all giddy inside
Penn: Thank you
Elijah: Feeling okay after everything?
I nod, not really wanting to talk about Elodie.
Penn: We'll be fine
Elijah: Good
Penn: So where are we going?
Elijah had taken me to Chipotle, which really did lift up my spirits. I love Chipotle. He drove us to one of the many parks in our city and we ate in the car. It was quiet at first as we both ate our bowls.
Penn: So how's school? Still regretting your major?
Elijah: I love my major, don't get me wrong. I'm just worried it's useless
Penn: It's not an ideal major, but you need to put in the work so it won't be useless
He nodded, swallowing what he had been chewing
Elijah: Mom wanted me to do Computer science instead of Film, but I think she's gotten over it
Penn: Are you good at computer science?
He nodded
Elijah: I am, but it's not fun
I laughed, grabbing another one of my chips and scooping up some food with it
Penn: I get that
Elijah: What about you? What are you planning to major in?
Penn: I think I'm leaning towards criminology
Elijah: Really?
I nod
Penn: I don't give that vibe?
Elijah: I thought you'd say psychology or something
I laugh again, this time almost choking on a rice grain
Penn: What's wrong with psychology?
Elijah: A lot of girls just seem to gravitate towards it
Penn: That's true. I can't lie I wanted to do it at some point in highschool
Elijah: See?
We laughed, before silence engulfed us again.
After finishing our food, we sat next to each other in silence, completely filled and tired.
Penn: Tonight was nice, thank you
Elijah: No problem. When you told me about your grandma, I thought you'd need a little distraction
