"So much really has changed." Josie spoke, her eyes scanning the different changes after the last decade.

One thing that history does is prove that a decade can make a real difference. The couple had returned to Mystic Falls with their children since the twins are enrolled there.

"Mom retired the headmaster position to me after we enrolled the twins." Lizzie sat down in the chair with a smile while Josie tilted her head.

"We?" She wondered and Lizzie furrowed her eyebrows.

"Oh. Mg and I, we raised them after you two disappeared...Well more precisely gotten kidnapped." Her sister explained and Josie nodded, looking around once more.

"So, who's in this Gen's super squad?" Hope asked, leaning on the desk with her arms crossed.

"There aren't any, I've been dealing with most monster attacks along with the teachers." Lizzie tells them.

"So who's still here besides you and Mg?" Josie decided to ask.

"I think Jed and...oh Ethan and Sebastian. I think those two might have something going on." Mg answered, chuckling at his comment.

"Ethan and Sebastian?" Josie pulls a shocked expression.

"Yeah, shocked me too." Lizzie shakes her head.

"How is—" Hope was immediately cut off by a student barging into the office.

"Mrs. Saltzman!" She called.
(Yes, her and Mg are married but Mg canonically hates his name so he took in the Saltzman lastname with Alaric's consent so).

"What is it?" Lizzie immediately stood seeing the disturbance on the student's face.

"There's a fight in the dinning hall." She reveals, out of breath.

"What?" Mg also shoots up.

The four adults quickly vamp to said hall to see a kid being magically sealed against the wall, another knocked out on top of a broken table and the last being punched repeatedly by Hayes. Josie and Hope immediately noticed the boy fighting before vamping to him, pulling him off hastily.

"Hayes what are you doing?" Josie scolded as soon as.

"Proving to them who's Alpha." He replies with, wiping the blood from his nose.

"You can't just pick a fight, especially in the middle of lunch time." Hope sighs.

"But that is the wolf way, if an Alpha can't hold their crown then it will fall and so will they." Hayes clenches his fist.

"Times are different—" Josie tries to tell him but he immediately cuts her off.

"Of course there are, because you two would know so much about that? About the stuff Niko and I had to go through." He gritted his teeth.

"That's not fair and you know that." Josie furrowed her eyebrows at the comment.

"You seriously want me to believe that you two, one of the most, if not the most powerful beings somehow gotten trapped into a prison world? I'm not stupid, and don't treat me like I'm some child." Hayes growled and Josie noticed the hint of black veins creeping up the boys neck.

"Hayes—" She reaches out but he cuts her off once more.

"No!" Hayes yells, voice roaring through the hall as a shockwave of magic crashes into his mother, seeing her flying across the room.

"Josie!" Lizzie called, shock written on everyone's faces.

"Hayes what the hell are you doing?" Nikolai eyes were now golden, had entering the room just before the magical attack, and teeth on full display towards his brother.
