Whispers in the Dark
In the stillness of night, where shadows creep,
A silence so heavy, it pulls me from sleep.
With eyes wide open, I strain to perceive,
The echoes of whispers, too eerie to believe. They dance through the air like a haunting refrain,
Soft murmurs of secrets that twist in my brain.
Each syllable drifts on a cool midnight breeze,
A chilling reminder of things I can't seize.Closer they come, like a thief in the night,
A chorus of voices that snuff out the light.
I listen intently, heart racing with fear,
For the source of these whispers is never quite clear. Are they borne of my mind, or a presence nearby?
Each flicker of movement ignites the sly sigh.
The shadows grow longer, the walls start to bend,
As dread wraps around me, a shroud with no end.I call out to silence, but it mocks me instead,
As the whispers grow louder, filling me with dread.
A promise of nightmares that linger and cling,
In the depths of the dark, where the shadows take wing. What secrets are spoken in this somber gloom?
What truths lie hidden, awaiting their bloom?
In the silence that follows, I hold my breath tight,
For the whispers are watching, just beyond the light. So I lie here awake, ensnared by my fears,
With echoes of whispers that echo like tears.
In the heart of the darkness, a truth yet to find,
The shadows remain, with their whispers entwined.
