The Weight of a Whisper
In the stillness of the night, a whisper takes flight,
A feather-light sound, yet heavy with fright.
It drifts through the shadows, a murmur of doubt,
A soft, slithering breath that creeps in and out.Unwanted advances, cloaked in disguise,
Like whispers that linger, obscuring the skies.
Each syllable, sharp as a blade in the dark,
A violation of trust, an unwelcome remark. With every soft whisper, a boundary is crossed,
Innocence shattered, the lines are embossed.
What once felt so safe now feels foreign, unknown,
A silence grows louder, echoing alone. The weight of that whisper, a burden to bear,
It wraps 'round my heart, an unyielding snare.
A soft-spoken threat, a gesture misplaced,
Each whisper a scar, an embrace interlaced.I carry the echoes of moments so small,
Yet they weigh like mountains, these whispers enthrall.
A glance turned too long, a touch that felt wrong,
These subtle invasions, a silent, cruel song. But the power of whispers can also ignite,
A flame of defiance, a spark in the night.
For in sharing the burdens, in naming the fears,
The weight of their whispers can lessen through tears. So I gather my courage, and I rise from the ground,
To reclaim what was taken, to make a new sound.
With each whispered truth, I break free from the chain,
Transforming that weight into strength from the pain.Let whispers be heard, let their stories unfold,
For in each gentle murmur, a warrior's told.
The weight of a whisper can shatter the night,
And from its dark shadow, we'll rise to the light.
