Firefly Nights
In the hush of twilight, when day turns to night,
The world comes alive in a dance of soft light.
Fireflies flicker, like stars fallen down,
In the velvet expanse of the summer night's gown.We chase them through meadows, with laughter and glee,
Tiny lanterns of magic, so joyful and free.
With jars held in hand, we run wild and fast,
Capturing whispers of summers long past. Each flicker a promise, a secret untold,
In the glow of their bodies, pure wonder unfolds.
We marvel at nature's enchanting display,
As they twirl and they spiral, a glittering ballet. With whispers and giggles, we gather them close,
A treasure of light, our own little host.
The glass jars aglow, their warmth like a sigh,
As we sit in the darkness, with dreams floating high.We watch as they dance in our makeshift retreat,
While crickets provide us their rhythmic heartbeat.
The scent of fresh grass mingles sweet in the air,
And the moon hangs above, with its silvery glare.Oh, how we believed in the magic that night,
As fireflies glimmered, a beautiful sight.
We'd set them all free with a wish and a sigh,
As they floated back up to the vast, starry sky. Those firefly nights, with their flickering glow,
Remind me of childhood, where wonder would flow.
In the heart of the summer, beneath starlit heights,
We captured our dreams in those firefly nights.
