Fragments of Myself
In the mirror's gaze, I search for the whole,
Yet find only pieces, a fractured soul.
Each reflection whispers of battles unseen,
A body in shambles, a mind caught in between.Once vibrant and free, I now float like a ghost,
Haunted by shadows of what mattered most.
The laughter that echoed now muffled and thin,
A quiet reminder of the war within.I wear a mask crafted from expectation and shame,
With each careful layer, I play a cruel game.
Hiding my hunger, my heart, my despair,
The fragments of me lost in the weight of the air.Once a kaleidoscope, colors alive,
Now just grayscale whispers of what used to thrive.
The spark of my spirit, a flicker, a fight,
Dimmed down to embers, struggling for light.I am the girl who once danced in the rain,
Now tethered to numbers, wrapped tight in the chain.
Each fork that I grasp feels heavy, defined,
By the echoes of voices that echo my mind.Food becomes enemy, an invader at best,
A battle of wills in this twisted quest.
Yet deep in the silence, I hear the soft plea,
Of the girl I once knew, longing to be free.Fragments of laughter, of dreams left behind,
Pieces of joy scattered, lost in my mind.
The mirror reflects what it chooses to see,
But beyond the façade, there's still a part of me.I crave the connection, the whole of my heart,
To mend these shattered pieces, to make a new start.
For the journey is long, but I'm learning to fight,
To reclaim my identity, to step into the light. With each tiny victory, I gather my grace,
Reweaving the tapestry of my rightful place.
Though fragments remain, I'll cherish them all,
For they're part of the story that helped me to stand tall.So here's to the pieces, the shards of my soul,
To the beauty in struggle, to becoming whole.
In the chaos of hunger, in the depths of the strife,
I'll gather my fragments and reclaim my life.
