Through the Looking Glass
In the hush of twilight, a mirror stands tall,
Reflecting a figure, yet capturing none at all.
Glass like a portal, inviting yet cold,
A realm that is known, but hauntingly bold.I peer through the surface, the world feels askew,
Familiar reflections, yet everything's new.
Faces that smile, but their laughter feels strained,
Like echoes of joy in a room unexplained. Each glance through the looking glass warps the light,
Colors bleed softly, morphing day into night.
A vibrant mosaic that twists and confounds,
Whispers of truths hidden deep underground. The sky wears a palette of peculiar hues,
Clouds stretch and shatter, confounding the views.
I reach for the warmth of the sun's golden glow,
But fingers meet glass, and I'm trapped in the flow. This world is a mirror, a deceptive display,
Where shadows dance lightly, then swiftly decay.
I watch as the seasons spin in dizzying flight,
Yet time stands unmoving in this fractured twilight. The faces around me, though known and adored,
Are painted with layers of silence and chord.
Their eyes, like reflections, are empty yet bright,
As if they are yearning for something in sight.I wander through memories, each one a refrain,
Yet they echo in hollows, like whispers of pain.
This glass isn't fragile; it holds me secure,
A barrier of comfort, yet I feel so unsure.I press on the surface, the glass cool and slick,
Seeking a way out, a way to escape this trick.
But the world outside beckons, a mirage in dreams,
While I'm caught in this limbo, unraveling seams. With each passing moment, I wrestle and strain,
To break through the barrier, to silence the pain.
For life is a tapestry, woven and spun,
And I crave the realness, the warmth of the sun.So I gather my courage, I brace for the fight,
With each heartbeat, I challenge the grip of the night.
Through the looking glass, I will carve out my space,
To shatter the mirror and reclaim my own face. For beyond this reflection, a world waits for me,
Where shadows don't linger, and I can be free.
So I'll step through the glass, let the echoes disperse,
Embrace all the chaos, and live in my verse.
