Labels and Judgments

In the quiet corners of whispered disdain,
Where labels are tossed like confetti of pain,
I walk through the world, a puzzle unfit,
Each piece a reflection of judgments that split.

"Too skinny," they murmur, their voices like knives,
"Just eat a bit more," as if that will revive
The light that once danced in the depths of my eyes,
Now hidden beneath all the weight of their lies.

They see the surface, a body, a shell,
Yet the battles I fight are too hard to tell.
Each glance a reminder of expectations unkind,
While their words wrap around me, like chains that bind.

"Attention-seeker," they say, with a sneer,
As if my own struggle is something to fear.
But the truth lies in shadows, where no one can see,
The turmoil within that's consuming me.

I yearn for acceptance, for understanding, a hand,
Someone to listen, to help me withstand
The burden of labels that cling like a shroud,
That drown out my voice, that silence me loud.

What they don't see is the weight of despair,
The isolation that clings, a weight I must bear.
I wish they could glimpse through the layers of strife,
And understand that my eating disorder is not just a choice in my life.

It's a whisper of fear, an echo of doubt,
A desperate struggle where hope can't break out.
But each judgment I face, each scornful remark,
Ignites a fierce longing to spark in the dark.

So here's my plea, as I stand in the light,
Let's shatter the silence, let's banish the blight.
For beneath every label, there's a story untold,
A yearning for empathy, a heart to unfold.

In a world filled with judgments, let kindness prevail,
Let understanding flourish, let love be our sail.
For together we can rise, dispelling the shame,
And rewrite the narrative that fuels the blame.

Let's open our hearts, extend a warm hand,
And walk side by side, in this journey we've planned.
For the scars that we bear are not marks of defeat,
But symbols of strength, of resilience, complete.
