: Two Years Later

Life had shifted beautifully for Y/N and Elizabeth since they settled into their life together with River. Y/N, still playing for Angel City FC, was thriving in her football career. However, a new and exciting opportunity had come her way — an offer from Orlando Pride. After long consideration, Y/N decided it was time for a change.

---

One evening, Y/N came home to find Elizabeth reading a script on the couch while River was busy with his toys. With a nervous excitement bubbling inside, Y/N approached them.

“Hey, Lizzie, River, can we talk for a minute?” Y/N asked, catching their attention.

Elizabeth looked up with a warm smile, setting her script aside. “Of course, what’s going on?”

Y/N took a deep breath and grinned. “I got an offer from Orlando Pride... and I’ve decided to take it.”

River’s eyes widened. “Are we moving to Orlando, Mom?”

Elizabeth looked stunned but delighted. “Orlando? Wow, that’s huge! Are you sure about this?”

Y/N nodded confidently. “Yeah, it feels like the right move. I want to take my career to the next level, and this feels like the perfect opportunity.”

Elizabeth stood, wrapping her arms around Y/N, proud and supportive. “I’m so proud of you. You’ve worked so hard for this.”

River jumped up and hugged both of them, excitedly adding, “I can’t wait! Orlando, here we come!”

---

A couple of days later, Elizabeth met up with Dua, Y/N’s ex-wife and River’s mom. Over the past two years, despite the initial complications, Elizabeth and Dua had developed a strong friendship. They’d focused on creating a supportive, loving environment for River, co-parenting in the best way possible.

As they sat together at a café, Dua smiled warmly at Elizabeth. “So, how’s everything going with Y/N and River?”

Elizabeth took a sip of her coffee, smiling brightly. “It’s going great. Y/N just accepted a transfer to Orlando Pride, so we’ll be moving soon.”

Dua’s eyebrows rose in surprise, but she smiled knowingly. “Wow, that’s a big step. River must be thrilled.”

Elizabeth nodded. “He’s super excited. It feels like the right move for us. And... I just wanted to thank you for being so amazing through all of this. River’s lucky to have two moms who care so much.”

Dua smiled softly. “I’m glad we’ve made this work. It wasn’t easy at first, but for River, it’s all worth it.”

Elizabeth nodded in agreement, then leaned in with a smile. “So, how about you? How’s everything on your end?”

Dua chuckled, a light blush coloring her cheeks. “Actually... I’ve been seeing someone.”

Elizabeth’s eyes lit up. “No way! Tell me everything.”

For the next hour, Dua opened up about her new boyfriend, the two women laughing and bonding over their shared experiences of life and love. Despite the complicated past, there was a beautiful peace between them, a mutual respect that had grown over time.

A few weeks later, Elizabeth sat down with her sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley, for lunch. They hadn’t had the chance to catch up in a while, and Elizabeth had something on her mind.

After a bit of small talk, Elizabeth took a deep breath. “So... I’ve been thinking. I want to propose to Y/N again.”

Both of her sisters gasped in surprise before smiling widely.

“Lizzie, that’s amazing!” Ashley exclaimed.

Mary-Kate grinned. “That’s such a beautiful idea. You two have been through so much together.”

Elizabeth nodded. “Yeah, after everything we’ve built together — especially with River — it feels like the right time. Moving to Orlando feels like a fresh start, and I want to show her that I’m committed, all over again.”

Ashley leaned in. “Do you know how you want to propose?”

Elizabeth smiled, thinking. “Not yet, but I want it to be something meaningful... something that reflects how far we’ve come and how much I love her.”

Mary-Kate reached out to hold her hand. “Whatever you do, it’ll be perfect. You two are meant to be.”

Elizabeth smiled warmly, filled with excitement. As the move to Orlando approached, so did the next chapter of their lives — one filled with love, family, and a promise that would last a lifetime.
