Chapter 29

Time Skip: Mid-2024 – Six Months into Marriage

It had been six months since Y/N and Dua had tied the knot in a beautiful, intimate ceremony that still brought smiles to their faces every time they thought about it. Surrounded by family, close friends, and the warm sun of the Mediterranean, the wedding had been a true reflection of the love they shared. The past six months had flown by in a whirlwind of love, adventure, and navigating the complexities of married life.

Though their lives were hectic, with Y/N stationed in Barcelona playing for FC Barcelona and Dua balancing her time between London and Barcelona for her music career and budding acting projects, they had found a rhythm. Every time they were together, it felt like a celebration—a merging of two busy lives, filled with laughter, late-night takeout, and Oscar Blue, their loyal dog, who had become a comforting constant amidst the chaos.

They had mastered the art of living in two cities, becoming experts at long-distance travel. One week, they’d be walking through the streets of Barcelona, visiting little cafés by the sea, and the next, they’d be in London, attending events or spending time with friends and family. No matter where they were, they had one thing that mattered most—each other.

---

One evening, they were lounging on the couch, the soft light of the TV flickering across the room as a movie played in the background. Oscar was curled up at their feet, snoring softly. Y/N had one arm draped around Dua’s shoulders, gently stroking her hair while Dua rested her head against Y/N’s chest.

Everything felt perfect. Peaceful.

But there was something on Dua’s mind, a thought she couldn’t shake off for the past few weeks. She shifted slightly, lifting her head to look at Y/N, her face thoughtful, almost hesitant.

"I’ve been thinking," Dua began, her voice quiet but serious.

Y/N glanced down at her, raising an eyebrow playfully. "Uh-oh, that’s dangerous."

Dua playfully swatted Y/N’s chest. "I’m serious!"

Y/N chuckled, sitting up a little straighter. "Okay, okay. What’s on your mind, love?"

Dua bit her lip, clearly nervous about what she was about to say. "I’ve been thinking about… kids."

Y/N’s playful expression instantly softened, her eyes wide with surprise. They had talked about having kids one day, but hearing Dua bring it up now, after six months of marriage, felt so… real.

Dua continued, glancing down at her hands as she played with the edge of the blanket. "I know we’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. And I feel like… I don’t know, I feel like I’m ready to start the process. I’m not saying right this second, but soon. What do you think?"

Y/N’s heart swelled at the thought. For the past few months, the idea of starting a family had been quietly lingering in her mind too, but she hadn’t wanted to rush Dua, knowing how much they both had on their plates. But now, hearing Dua express the same desire—it felt like a dream.

Before Dua could say anything else, Y/N sat up quickly, her face lighting up with excitement. "Yes. Yes, yes, yes!"

Dua blinked, taken aback by the immediate and enthusiastic response. "Wait, what? Really?"

"Really? Of course, really!" Y/N practically bounced up from the couch, pacing in front of her in excitement. "I’ve been thinking about it too! I didn’t want to bring it up because I didn’t want to pressure you, but I’ve been dreaming about it. I can totally see us with kids. I’m so ready, Dua. More than ready."

Dua’s eyes filled with tears, her heart overwhelmed by Y/N’s words. She hadn’t expected such a quick and wholehearted reaction, but it made her heart soar. "You’re really ready?"

Y/N stopped pacing, coming back to sit beside her, taking Dua’s hands in her own. Her gaze was soft and filled with love. "I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life. We’ve built this amazing life together, and I want to share it with our future kids. I want to see you as a mom, I want us to raise a family together. I can’t wait."

Dua sniffed, wiping away a stray tear. "I was so nervous to bring it up because I didn’t want you to feel rushed. But hearing you say this… it’s everything I hoped for."

Y/N leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. "You’re not rushing me at all. This feels right. So, what’s the next step? How do we make this happen?"

Dua let out a small laugh through her tears, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. She nestled into Y/N’s embrace, resting her head on her chest again. "I guess we start looking into options. We’ll have to talk to doctors, figure out what’s best for us… but we’ll do it together."

Y/N smiled, holding her close. "Together. Always."

Oscar Blue, sensing the shift in the energy around them, stirred from his spot at their feet and jumped up onto the couch, settling himself between them. Y/N and Dua both laughed, their hands automatically reaching out to pet him.

Y/N glanced down at Oscar, scratching behind his ears. "Looks like someone’s ready to be a big brother, huh?"

Dua giggled, hugging Y/N a little tighter. "It’s going to be an adventure, but I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else."

And in that moment, as they sat in their cozy home with their dog between them, the future felt full of endless possibilities. They were ready to take on the next chapter, hand in hand, building their family together.
