Chapter 31: New Beginnings in LA
The Last Match
The stadium was electric, filled with fans donning the iconic blue and claret colors of FC Barcelona. Y/N stood on the pitch, taking a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. This was her last match, a bittersweet end to a chapter filled with triumphs and challenges. She looked up into the stands, spotting Dua, who waved enthusiastically, surrounded by friends.
“Alright, Y/N! You’ve got this!” Dua shouted, her voice breaking through the noise of the crowd. Y/N smiled, feeling a wave of encouragement wash over her.
As the game progressed, Y/N played with her heart, pouring every ounce of passion into each pass, tackle, and shot. The fans roared with every successful play, chanting her name in unison.
“Come on, Y/N! Show them what you’ve got!” one of her teammates shouted, nudging her with a grin.
With only minutes left in the game, Y/N found herself with the ball, darting past defenders with grace and agility. She spotted her teammate at the far end of the field and made a perfect cross. The crowd held its breath as the shot found the back of the net, erupting into cheers.
Y/N raised her arms in victory, soaking in the energy of the crowd. But as the final whistle blew, signaling the end of the match, a wave of emotions washed over her. This was it—her time in Barcelona had come to an end.
The Emotional Farewell
As she walked off the pitch, Y/N was met with hugs from her teammates, tears streaming down her face. “Thank you all for everything,” she said, her voice breaking. “This club has given me so much.”
Dua rushed onto the field, pulling Y/N into a tight embrace. “I’m so proud of you,” she whispered, wiping away Y/N's tears. “You’re incredible!”
As the crowd began to disperse, Y/N took a moment to thank the coaching staff and the club’s supporters. “Thank you to everyone at FC Barcelona,” she said, her voice strong despite her emotions. “You’ve been my family, and I’ll carry these memories with me wherever I go.”
The head coach stepped forward, a proud smile on his face. “Y/N, you’ve left an indelible mark on this club. We’ll always be cheering for you.”
A New Opportunity
A few days later, as Y/N was settling into life after her farewell match, she received an unexpected call. It was from Angle FC in LA, offering her a contract.
“Dua, I’m not sure about this,” Y/N said, pacing back and forth in their living room, her heart racing. “I haven’t been back to LA since… well, since everything with Elizabeth.”
Dua placed a reassuring hand on Y/N's shoulder. “I understand, but think about it. This could be an incredible opportunity for both of us. My career is really taking off here, and I want to be by your side.”
Y/N looked into Dua’s eyes, sensing her unwavering support. “But what if it brings up old memories?”
Dua smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair behind Y/N's ear. “We’re a family now. With River and Oscar, we can face anything together. I’ll support you, and I believe this is the right move for you.”
After a moment of contemplation, Y/N sighed, feeling the weight of the decision lift. “Okay, let’s do it.”
Dua’s face lit up with joy. “Yes! I promise you won’t regret it.”
The Packing Chaos
The packing process turned into a whirlwind of chaos. Boxes were strewn across the living room, and River was busy crawling around, exploring every nook and cranny of their Barcelona home. Oscar Blue was right beside him, barking excitedly, as if urging River to investigate the world around him.
