The chief's wife stopped me in front of the first guy that smelled of tobacco. "This is Laxes, the third son of the wolf tribe leader." She introduces me. He smiled widely not saying a word as If his looks alone were all he needed. 'not a hi? my name is?' I waited for him to say something but the smell of tobacco was not nice on my nose." hm alright." she kept walking me down. "This is Boris, the son of the ow..." "Yeah no." I quickly refuse this guy that smells of smoke. He seemed annoyed at my refusal 'You are fucking crazy if you think I would choose a stupid ass.' I see the lady frown before walking me down to the next guy. This guy smelled of mint to such a level it made my stomach hurt. "This is Torren, the fifth son of the fox tribe leader." she introduces "Hello" the man greets taking a step closer to me. I take a step back not wanting his smell anywhere near me. I cover my nose 'Ugh this guy stinks!' I shake my head 'No way am I going to have a stomach ache every day.' I can see the lady is growing annoyed with how picky I was being. This last guy didn't give me much time to process his smell. He grabs my left hand "OH! How beautiful you are!" he chirps as I pull my hand away from the pain. He quickly grabbed my face "Oh your skin is so soft." he complimented. The way he was touching me just rubbed me the wrong way. I did not need to get his scent to know I was not going to enjoy this guy. I quickly shove him away startled by how he was stroking my shoulders. "oh I'm so..." I shake my head "No... nope... no thank you." I step away from him feeling my skin crawl at how much he touched. I hear the lady sigh deeply unhappy with my rejection. "You cannot be picky about this." The lady huffs. I frown 'The hell I can't!' I want to bite back as I look at the four men. I take a few steps away from them to give my nose some relief from their scents. I hate the options given to me 'Are these the men that take priority because their parents are high-ranking?' I wondered as I looked at these guys. "Audrey is your name right?" the lady asks. I nod "You need to pick a husband, there is no way for you to avoid it." she answers. I frown looking at these guys I do not feel safe with any of them. One of them is too touchy-feely, and the other is an idiot. Then there is the mute and minty fresh was not going to be my every morning wake up. I know Kogen said it's to protect a woman from meeting a violent end but, who will protect me from the man who is supposed to protect me? What if the person I picked is the danger? My nose is suddenly graced with the bitter-sweet scent of pine from before. I follow my nose to Kogen and the chief who are watching nearby. I turn to the lady again "I can pick any of the single men present... right?" I ask. She sighs and nods "Yes, just make it quick." she huffs pinching the bridge of her nose. I lift my hand unsure if this would be right to do.

Audrey seemed to struggle with the men in front of her. She did not give the owl a second thought and refused. The others seemed to scare her off with their scent or strong approach. The chief's wife hurries Audrey not happy with the show. I noticed people from the village had gathered to watch what would happen. "I can pick any of the single men present... right?" Audrey asked. Her eyes fixed on the chief's wife. "yes, just make it quick." She answers not happy with how difficult Audrey was making this for her. "It's me! isn't it!" The weasel cheered eagerly thinking he had won over Audrey. Their eagerness quickly shut down as Audrey points at me. She seemed unsure of herself as she looked at me. "I..if it's a...alright." She mutters her previous boldness simmering. "what?! I said you could n..." "That is a fine pick Miss Audrey!" the chief beams cutting his wife off. I could not say I was upset with her choice I felt unsure of it. The memory of incidents before made me unsure if this was right. But, this was her choice and I would not stop her from making it. 'I will not hold her to it... I'll give her time and she will leave of her own will.' I decided that would be for the best. 'if I don't scare her off... my aura will do it. It's been like that since I was of age.'

The chattering around us suddenly fell silent as I pointed at Kogen. His eyes seemed to challenge my choice. I did not waver keeping my finger pointed at him. 'this man although I've only got to know him over 4 days.' I watch the chief walk up to me with arms wide open. "finally a woman who sees real value." he teases. I can't tell if he was making fun of me or if it was a compliment. Kogen walked up to us as the chief hugged me. "Well, welcome to the family little Audrey." he chuckles.

Audrey's eyes seemed worried as I got closer. This worry of hers I am unsure if its from fear or her doubt. "Alright! it's been decided Kogens got a little miss now!" The chief announces all too happy about her choice. Audrey lowers her eyes to the ground as the chef holds her under his arm. Yyvonne cheered herself before sliding down onto my arms. I set her down so she could go do whatever she wanted. "Audrey! you are staying!" she cheered gleefully. "uhm if thats alright." Audrey answers as she looks at me. 'hm so she is worried about what I will say.' I felt relieved she chose me why? I am not sure. 'Giving me a choice? Fine why not.'   I look at the men who wait for me to turn her away. I usually do with some of the girls who pick me out of pity. I felt she was refreshing compared to all the other girls who chose me out of pity. "So?" the chief turns to me. I look at Yyvonne who seemed just as curious. If anything I believe I understand her motive for her choice. "hmm if thats what she wants." I answer not pushing my thoughts into it. I noticed her aura was non-existent so I knew she would quickly back out.

The way he answers 'if thats what she wants.' it was a bit irritating. I frown hearing him answer the same to my request. I wanted him to say 'I'm fine with it, or no I am not alright with it.' Although I did not want to go anywhere near these guys. I'd feel better knowing he was fine with this. "ugh! little girl! I'm telling you! you do not know what you are getting yourself into!" the chief's wife hisses. I turn to the four men but turn back to Kogen. 'I will trust what I will get myself into with Kogen than those guys.' The chief pushes me towards Kogen and away from his wife. "You need to stop with this slander." he huffs at his wife not happy with her. "This kid doesn't understand what she is getting herself into!" she bites back. I shake my head quickly hobbling over to Kogen. I grab his arm as I trip on a stone and face plan onto his stomach. 'ugh!!! what fucking timing!' I lift my head "Ah!... s..so.." He puts his hand on my head and pushes my face into his chest. I blush as I hear people whispering. My nose picked up that bitter-sweet pine from his clothes. 'she said it was a natural scent... then this is his...' I close my eyes feeling relieved that I didn't give in to that lady's pushing. This scent sends butterflies free in my chest. Butterflies that bump against my ribs and heart, making themselves known to me. 'Ugh, I am such a stupid romantic. Reading all those Romantic smut books was not a good idea on my part.'
