'Kogen!.' Audrey's sweet voice cries my name. My hands hold her silky skin gently. I can feel her skin prickle with goosebumps as I taste her sweet and tart grapefruit scent. 'More.' She begged as I filled her warm walls with myself. I want to hear her call my name some more. I kiss her neck letting her ride out her ecstasy. Her walls greedily sucked me in deeper. I watch her eyes flutter from her orgasm. 'Audrey,' I call her name wanting to feel her more. She is so timid in my hold so unlike the Audrey I know. I feel her skin start to vanish like every dream she leaves me feeling so empty. I wake up to the sounds of gunfire. 'these snakes have advanced their weapon choice.' I pick up the gun Yuri has manufactured for us. There is not enough time to rest only enough to stay sane. "Another bloody day." Yuri walks out of his tent ready for this warfare we have to live in. I smirk "Are your delicate hands not ready to get calloused?" I ask my old friend. He scoffs "My hands are made to create! Invent! not to roll in the mud like you feral beasts." He huffs. I chuckle "And this is why you have such a reputation." I poke at him. He grins "And you being a feral beast is why you have yours." He jabs back. I smirk finding his point to be true. I have killed many with these hands of mine. These wars have no time frames and rules change at the drop of a dime. "How many men have we lost?" I asked my mother who had just walked up. She frowns "We have lost a large number of men at this point I've counted 80." She answers. I nod "Then we need to triple the number of dead enemies." I set the order. She nods "As you command." she agrees. I turn to Yuri seeing his gold eyes scan the map and the plans. "We've already wiped a portion of their troops and yet they still keep coming." he frowns. I look at the line we have been keeping them at. "These things are persistent," I scoff. "I heard from the trees that a different Naga has been spotted." I knew he would bring that up at some point. "Is this why these snakes are attacking?" He asks I shrug "A different Naga or not they are still trying to create chaos in our forest." I tell him. He shakes his head "If it is true that a different Naga has been seen they will not stop even if we manage to chase them off." He grumbles. "You may be right." I agree with him. "Have you not seen this New Naga? I hear it's a child." He asks. I look out at the battlefield. "I have met the Naga," I answer watching the troops get ready for another day of fighting. "You have!? What is it!?" He asks Intrigued by the information. "She is not a child." I correct the information he has. "She? a female!?" he asks. I nod "She is not here... anymore." I tell him she's gone missing. "What? where has she gone!? Did she leave the forest!?" he asks. I shrug "She's been missing for about two months now." I explain. He frowns "Two months? Is she dead?" He asks. I shake my head "I'm not sure." I feel a pit 'I hope not.' "You need to introduce me to her!" his eyes tell me he Is ready to dissect her if he did get the chance to met her. I turn away from him "Thats not up to me." I answer not wanting to promise something I cannot guarantee. He sighs "You are such a boring man." He frowns. 'boring?' I scoff leading him to the front lines. These snakes believe they can bring salvation to this forest but I do not trust this salvation they promise. These bullets they use are made of metal and gunpowder cannot make it past our auras. I kept the gun on my back finding using my sword is faster than reloading these gunpowder rifles. Once Yuri and the others figured out these guns could not harm us this fight progressed faster. My troops whom I usually train in hand-to-hand and sword-to-sword combat catch on quickly. These snakes feel off they all lacked auras not one of them carried auras. I look at Yuri who is examining some of those that cling to life. I walk past the dead bodies of the snakes. 'not one of them took their beast form.' I frown at their idiotic choice. I look at my men who all took their beast forms making this fight much easier for them. "They did not take their beast form." I look at my mother who is coming back from handling her side. I nod "Why would they do that? If they took their beast form their venom and strength would have made this fight more of a challenge." I ask. My mother shakes her head "I thought they would leave their beast forms for a last-ditch effort but." We look at the massacre around us. 'is it genetic?' I recall Audrey asking me that the first day she came to this world. "Something is going on with the snake tribe." I turn to Yuri who has already cut open one of these poor fools. "what are you talking about?" I ask walking over to him. He shoves his hands into the man's body "I can't find their venom sack." he explains. "their venom sack? How is that important?" I ask he nods "Well, I have been treating a lot of snakes in this area." 'testing.' I scoff as he pulls out organ after organ. "They all still have their venom sack and still have aura." he points out. I knit my brows together "So?" I ask he nods "Something is happening to their evolutionary line." he states. I look at the men around me "Their evolutionary line?" I ask he nods. "These men are not from this area and they seem to have evolved out of the need to turn into beasts." he murmurs as he keeps checking the body. "Could this be a possible motive for them to come here looking for a naga?" My mother asks. I turn to her as she starts checking one of the nearby men. "It could be, I need to run some tests to say for sure but, this is odd." he huffs. "You! Take this one and keep it alive!" he orders one of his men. "For now it seems we've cleaned them out of the area," he scoffs. "making me get away from my tests." he kicks one of the bodies. 'they lack a venom sack and auras, what is going on?' "We need to bury the bodies! hurry and start digging trenches before the scavengers start gathering." I order my troops. "This could be bad if Audrey was not taken back to her world." My mother mutters. I turn to her "If they are coming here to get their hands on a naga, who's to say she's not been taken by something else, somewhere dangerous." I frown. The idea of Audrey being put into harm's way again because of her lineage put a pit in my stomach. 'I hope that wherever she is... she is at least safe.'
