Born in utter Chaos

Four days have passed since we found the spells we needed. I have decided to put my hopes on infusing the engravings of the spell on each pillar. I watched Dad enchant the carved spell before stepping away. I was asked to hide inside the library as they tried to put up the pillars. Dad writes the spell in a circle between the pillars. I watch him step at the center of it all before he starts the chants. I watched him for five days and four nights try to set these pillars up with the spell. I watched in horror as his arm started turning into stone. "NO! NO! STOP!" I shout from the window. Hector quickly tackles Dad out of the circle breaking the spell and in turn the pillars. Sienna pulls me away from the windows as the shards are sent flying. I grab her arm "Sienna! take me to my Dad!" I urge her. She shakes her head "It's too dangerous for you to go out right now." she shakes her head. I frown "All clear!" I peek out of the window seeing Hector help my dad up. His arm is slowly turning back to normal. "Fuck!!" I slam my palm on the window. "Those were the only ones we had." I turn to the grimoire sitting on the small table near the window. "If even the setup is this taxing, how will the actual spell be?" I look out at the others feeling useless. I lean on the table gasping in pain as the children flare their auras. I close my eyes "Calm down, it's alright." I whisper rubbing my stomach. "It's okay," I whine as I try to calm them with my aura. "Audrey, I don't think we can stop what is about to happen." I turn to Ash as he puts his hand on Dons' fang. 'Ashthoren is right little one.' I Look at him and frown "There has to be a way." I whisper looking at the grimoire. "We are out of time Audrey." Ash puts his cold aura on my back. I frown "They will be here in a matter of hours." He tells me. I frown looking at the grimoire "Then we throw out this plan." I mutter flipping through the pages to a spell I had been eyeing since the night Kogen came to apologize. "A maze trap?" Ash asks. I nod "It takes less aura, and can aid in the fight." I turn to Sienna. "Do you know how to connect to the others?" I ask. She nods "Yes Mother but, who will be putting up this trap? Elder Thoren is not strong enough to hold it up." she answers. I look at the book before touching my stomach. "I will." I answer "What!? no! Audrey, you will risk the children being prematurely born!" Ash argues. I look at the grimoire and then outside again. Dad and Grandpa have good reserves but, that won't be enough. "we can split the spell into three auras." I gasp as the ground shakes. "It's started!" Ash growls in anger. I picked up the book and as quickly as I could walked to the center of the town. "Sienna! quickly!" I shout for her to follow me. We get to the center of the ruined magic circle. "Dad! quick!" I shout as I do my best to erase the previous magic circle with my feet. "Audrey what are you doing?" he asks. I shake my head "No time! Sam and Dan take the others into Don's cave!" I shout the order. "What about you Audrey?" they ask. I shake my head "Take them!" I shout not wanting to argue. Sam nods quickly urging the people into the rift. "Draw this circle!" I show the spell to Dad. He nods "Alright!" He shouts quickly drawing the circle with chalk "Grandpa we will need you too!" I gasped as the ground shook again. Sienna grabs me so I won't fall. I stepped into the circle once Dad was done and sat down. "Audrey! you can't!" Dad refuses. "We will split this spell into three sections!" I tell them. Grandpa nods sitting next to me. Dad hesitates but takes his place. I look at Sienna "Are we through?" I ask. She nods "Audrey! what is going on!?" Yuri barks. "The barrier!?" Kogen demands. I sigh "The barrier is a no-go." I answer "Throwing out the plan?" Kogen asks. I nod "Are you evacuating?" he asks hopeful. I shake my head "I fear that is no longer an option." I answer. "Audrey! Why!?" he shouts already stressed as he was. I look out at the darkening skies. "Kogen." I murmur. "How well do our men know their home?" I ask. He scoffs "Well enough why?" He asks. I smile looking at the grimoire in my lap. "I have a new plan," I look at Sienna. "OUT WITH IT!" Yuri shouts. I snicker hearing his impatience. "Grandpa, My Dad, and I will create a maze trap, to slow the advancement." I learned of this tactic from the old wars. "Gorilla tactics huh?" Dad smirks. I look at him and nod "Our men know this forest better than the enemy, use this forest of Ezra to eliminate those who seek to violate it." I feel my body shake in anger. Kogen sighs "Alright, Audrey, I trust you." he tells me. I smile leaning back against my Dad. "I trust you too Kogen, I love you." I express my love unsure of how this plan would turn out. Sienna nods "Everyone has received the message." she tells me. I nod "May the Void choke on the souls We send her way." I scoff spitefully. "Audrey, we will follow your lead." Grandpa tells me. I nod starting the chant Dad and Grandpa started after me. I bite my lip as I feel my aura surge. "In our domain up will become down and down will become up, In our domain only those in the tribes of the bear, the wolf, the fox, the Lynx, and those whose souls are tied to this island will remain aware." We chant in the Naga tongue. "In our domain of the Naga, Those whose souls tether to the Leviathans will not be able to find their way through this ever-twisting maze. In our domain of the Naga, only those of the tribes of the bear, the wolf, the fox, the Lynx, and those whose souls are tied to this Island will be able to move freely." I tense my jaw as the children flare their auras in protest. I take a deep breath. We repeat the chant the walls shake violently. I can hear Ash usher Sienna out of the center of the town. He quickly chanted a spell to create a weak barrier around us. I gasp in pain as the children flare their auras. I refocus on the spell not wanting to give those who are attacking any openings. My back feels uncomfortable but I ignore it. I gasp hearing a large number of voices join in on the chant. I look around seeing the will-o-wisp sitting in the circle chanting. "Audrey! get out of the circle!" Sienna runs up to me. I could feel the combined auras of the wisp and my grandpa and dad were holding up well. I get up feeling my stomach cramp up painfully. I groan stumbling over to Sienna. She quickly guides me away from the circle. The pain comes in slow waves as Sienna sits me down on the ground. I shake my head not wanting to sit down. 'It feels painful to sit.' I grab her arm "It... hurts." I cry as the cramp starts up again. Sienna nods "We need to get you to a safe place!" she looks around "Over here!" Ash points to the Library. Sienna nods "Audrey, this way... we can use the pillows." she tells me. I nod following her slowly to the library. I look at The others 'Please... hold on.' I begged. She quickly sets up the pillows for me to lay against. I feel scared 'This is so early my babies.' I focus on breathing as they flare their auras. I gasp in pain as their auras threaten to rip my body up from the inside. Sienna connects with Kogen "What is it!?" he demands the sound of screaming rushing through. "Is Livy still on the island!?" Sienna asks. He grunts "Yes! why!? what happened?!" He demands. Sienna squeezes my arm as I scream turning onto my side. "Audrey! what happened!?" he demands. I shake my head wanting the discomfort to go away. "T... KIds." I manage to cry out. "Ash! Can you bring Livy? the kids are coming!" Sienna shouts. I can't hold back my screams of pain. It feels like my body was trying its hardest to evict my children and my children are doing their damnedest to remain. "The kids!? It's too soon for them to be! UGh!" I scream worried by his grunt. "K... Kogen!?" I call out feeling a wave of panic start to swallow my mind up. "I'll be there as soon as I can!" he shouts before disconnecting the connection. Sienna rubs my side as Livy runs through the rift with her medical kit and a few other women. Livy quickly helps me onto my back before checking the progress. "Audrey, it will take some time you are only 3cm dilated." She tells me. I close my eyes focusing on my breathing. 'fuck this was a bad idea.' I clench my teeth as the kids flare their auras in anger. I scream in pain as the women hold me down. It feels like hours have passed and my aura is no longer enough to keep the children from killing me. 'Kogen.' I close my eyes worried about him. 'Please, please don't die.' Sienna wipes my forehead. "How is she?" Sienna asks Livy. Livy frowns "She is only 8cm we need her to be at 10..." Livy looks at me worriedly. "If this keeps up as slow as it is, Audrey's aura won't hold up." she looks at me. I already know that I used a lot of my aura during the spell. I already know I am risking my life for these kids and this home of mine. I squeeze Sienna's hand "Sienna how is it looking out there?" I ask. Ash had been watching the attack but did not report it to us. She shakes her head "You need to focus on the children." She scolds. I feel it's getting harder to breathe by the second. 'I fucked up bad.' I press her hand to my third eye 'Mom I messed up so bad.' I forcefully drag air into my lunges. 'I'm so sorry Kogen, I'm so sorry kids.' I open my eyes but everything is blurred. The sound of chanting becomes muffled and my head starts to hurt. I feel my heart struggle to pump blood around my body. 'I'm so scared Kogen.' I lose my grip on Sienna finding the lack of air impossible to overcome. "Audrey!" Sienna shakes my hand 'I don't want to go.' I look at Sienna's blurred face. 'I don't want to see Kogen cry. I don't want to leave him alone.' I can't feel my body anymore. "We are losing her!" Livy shouts as the machines she brought with her start beeping. 'Momma!' I can hear Iris sobbing. 'My baby.' I look at the little wisp 'Momma, please don't give up.' She begged me. I try to breathe but it feels like my lungs are being compressed. 

This Maze Audrey put up was working well. I know I can't be with her right now. I cut down another group of men when I feel Audrey's aura start to shrink along with the children. I turn back to the mountain. 'Audrey!' I groan as I am shot I turn to the cowards. 'I need to get to her now!' I lunge at these men 'I need to go.' I do not hold back. 'Daddy!!!!' I shudder hearing Iris's voice. I turn to the mountain 'Momma can't hold on!' She shouts desperately. I bite my lip knowing I wasn't at full strength. "I know, Dad's on his way." I turn to the enemy. I removed the seal I used on myself. I grin as my aura bursts out 'I need to end this quickly.' I lunge at the new groups when suddenly snake-like beasts jump out of the maze tackling the enemy. "Kogen! Audrey needs you now!" I turn to a woman who looks a lot like Audrey. "The veil is down we can aid in the fight! Don't let her die! Don't let the children die!" she begs. I look at the rift and quickly step into the rift. I step up to Sienna who is holding onto Audrey. Audrey's aura is already so weak. I quickly help her up letting Audrey rest on my chest her skin is already getting so cold. I frown wrapping the children in my aura creating the barrier between them and Audrey. She gasps desperately taking air into her lunges. "Kogen! what about the maze!?" Livy asks. I nod "The will-o-wisps is taking care of them for the time being." I tell them. "It is looked down upon for the dead to attack the living but, Our tribe is already looked down upon," Ash speaks up. "One more reason will not harm our reputation." He frowns. Audrey grabs my arm groaning in discomfort. "Hurts." she cries. I look at Livy who shakes her head "Still need one more cm." she tells Audrey. She scrunched her nose "Ugh, Kogen... you smell of blood." she complains. I sigh 'Well at least she feels well enough to complain.' I caress her cheek wanting her to relax. "breathe Audrey." I remind her. She nods as I feel her aura start to recover.  Livy starts ordering the other girls to get ready "It's time! Kogen do your best to keep Audrey comfortable." She gives me a nod. I flare my aura knowing Audrey loved the way it carried my scent. She holds onto my arm "Okay, Audrey, we will start." Livy whispers. Audrey lets out a pained groan before nodding. "On my say." Livy prepares herself. "push Audrey!" Livy orders. Audrey takes a deep breath and exhales as she pushes. She screams before deflating Livy nods "Okay! I see the head!" She tells us. "breath." I whisper as Audrey gasps for air. "Calmly, everything is alright," I assure her. She nods calming down "Audrey once more." Livy orders. Audrey pushes with all of her might. She screams desperately. Livy gasps in shock before the sound of angry cries fills the air. Audrey looks at Livy who hands the baby off to one of the girls. Audrey smiles 'It's so small.' I look at the child worry filling my mind. "Audrey the other baby is making its way out," Livy announces. I look at Audrey "One more." I assure her it's almost over.
