Riba is interest paid back on anything you borrow.
Ever heard the saying Don't be a borrower nor a lender bee!
Well you can loan money to friends and family and patiently wait for them to pay you back, keeping notes and receipts because if you or they forget it becomes ACCIDENTAL over payment so don't do things that are like Riba and paying back more than you owe.So taking mortgages is haram because you end up paying 3-5x as much on a property than just buying it outright and if you can't buy it outright you can't afford it and just accept it RATHER THAN COMMIT the Grave Sin of Riba...
Why must you own a home ? Pride, ego, arrogance and yes the Satan is very good at this sort of thing...Buy now pay nothing for 6 months...
Avoid
If you can't buy it now you can't afford it- Drop the ego and ask family for help and pay them back slowly, because if you miss the 6 month deadline you end up paying interest may Allah help us and give is rizq ameen.Late payment charges- why accept it- call them and tell them to revoke the fee you shouldn't pay more than you owe.
I told a company once my mum is not paying the late payment fee, we want to cancel today, they immediately agreed to drop the charges and I said to them my mum needs one more week and if you can't wait we are cancelling immediately and they waited and we checked the bill and the late payment charge of £20 was removed alhamdulilah.
If you work in a call centre as a Muslim it is your duty to protect the ummah from Riba, talk to your manager if a person is vulnerable and see if they can offer support.Banks are never going to stop doing interest, but I had asked them multiple times I didn't want to be involved in interest and alhamdulilah it's surprisingly lowered over the years of me being with the same bank and pestering them about not wanting interest.
It's a problem where we are living and some is unavoidable and Allah knows you do not want any part of it and of course the most merciful and compassionate will forgive you.
It is intentional riba that is the problem.
We can't avoid taxes, but in shaa Allah one day if I could move to a country without interest or tax and Allah wills it to happen I shall go in a heartbeat, because that's better for my elevation in my deen.Watch out for hidden interest rates and things when taking out insurance.
Cars on loans or fuel and go and make sure you're paying what you owe and not more.
Example iPhone 16 1TB contract is 71£ a month for 3 years it will cost you £2556 which is almost £200 more than buying it outright at £2258...
So make sure it's 2 years max and it will cost you £1704 never do 3 year contracts unless it's cheaper than buying outright.
The 1tb is 36 months so you'll pay interest *Riba please avoid.
The 512gb is a 24 month contract total cost £1378 upfront cost £299 £44.99 a month 44.99×12×2+299=£1378 so please get this one and avoid 1tb.
Jazakallah khair I'm just looking out for you and I'm not telling people how to live their life but this was so important for me to get right with you because I know you're excited about the iPhone 16 and perhaps 512gb is quite a lot if you take less selfies and delete unnecessary messages and stop gossiping so much.More about this on next post
