You can indeed check the Qiblah on a bus using qiblah finder app and if it's a straight journey and you are facing qibla you can remove shoes and pray if it means missing asr before maghrib
Like appointment clashing etc or whatever the reason
Allah knows best if you tried your best to get back especially in winter; when the prayer times are close together and late appointments might be best, but if you have kids going before dhuhr is best like early morning.
Or right after like 12-1pm but getting back before asr 2:19 ish you have until 430 or 355 when it gets especially early to pray
On a bus looking at the qiblah compass quite often the qiblah changes so it's not a good idea and the prayer will be invalid
Plus if you're in the back and someone comes and sits opposite it will break the prayer
In Sheffield I know an Islamic charity shop mums United on the wicker I usually nip in there to pray dhuhr go shopping come back there pray asr before it shuts at 4pm
So you know where to pray now.
