-Our Apartment-

As we parted ways with Atsushi and Kunikida, Osamu proposed that Sasaki should stay with us for the duration of the investigation. Although my initial instinct was to decline, I realized she had no other place to go.

I arranged for her to stay in the spare bedroom, then excused myself to go back to my bedroom. As expected, the brunette was on his side of the futon, engrossed in that book about suicide once more.

Seated next to him, I voiced my concerns. "Why did you want her to stay with us?"

Without shifting his gaze from the book, he spoke in a playful tone. "Aww, is someone jealous?"

"Answer the question."

"Okay, you don't have to be so harsh about it." Osamu's frown deepened as he closed his book and sat up to face me. "Something's off about her, I think we can both agree on that. I thought it would be best to learn more about her to unravel the truth."

"So, you're keeping her close for information," I reiterated.

"Correct."

"The driver is the abductor too, isn't he?" I questioned, to which the brunette answered with a smile. "He gassed the passengers in his car and sold them for their organs. I unfortunately remember the trade quite well. He impersonated every tourist by wearing their clothes. Did I miss anything?"

"Haha, I didn't expect anything less from you, dear."

Ignoring the pet name, I turned away from the brunette, pulling the comforter over me as I laid down. Osamu did the same, with the exception of deciding to face me. I could tell that he was just inches away from me as I felt his hot breath on the back of my neck.

"Don't worry about Sasaki, you have no need to be jealous of her."

-The Next Day-

Yosano serves as the Agency's doctor, yet I possess knowledge of first aid and other medical practices taught to me by a certain individual years ago, allowing me to occasionally fill in for her in her absence. As Osamu conducted a subtle interrogation of Sasaki, I ensured she sustained no injuries from the shattered glass when Kunikida rescued her from the tank.

"Hi, thank you so much for saving me the other day." I listened as Sasaki addressed the boys who had recently arrived in the infirmary, while I washed my hands in the sink. Just minutes before they entered, I had completed my exam and was organizing my things to avoid Yosano's wrath. "If you hadn't all come when you did, I'm sure I wouldn't be sitting here right now. Not to mention, you were very kind in putting me up last night."

Kunikida wore a look of irritation on his face. "Huh?"

"Where did you stay exactly?" Atsushi questioned.

"My place." Osamu made a revelation, causing the others to gasp in horror.

"That's correct," Sasaki smiled. "I am deeply indebted to him for that."

"What can I say?"

I could intervene and say that I was there, and she slept in a separate room, but this is way more fun.

"Are you sure that's not breaking professional conduct?" The white-haired boy questioned.

-In the Agency's Main Office-

As Osamu was uncovering details about Sasaki, it fell to him to type the report. I must confess, the expression on Atsushi's face was priceless as he gazed at the brunette in disdain.

"Unfortunately, Ms. Sasaki didn't see who her kidnapper was. She apparently faints often due to a medical condition. That's exactly what happened on the day when she was abducted as well. How she was transported afterward, I'm not sure."

Kunikida was obviously jealous, crossing his arms as he looked away from us. "You've taken quite a liking to her, haven't you?"

"In a way," he answered. "She does seem like the type to commit suicide with me if I asked. What about you then, Kunikida? Is she your type?"

"She's an eyewitness in a murder case, nothing more."

"He's definitely lying," I loudly whispered to the brunette.

"I HEARD THAT!"

"Atsushi, you want to know, right?" Osamu pulled out Kunikida's notebook as if from nowhere. "What his ideal woman is."

When did you swipe that, you bastard!"

Curiosity got the better of me, and I found myself looking over Atsushi's shoulder.

"Look at this part right here." Osamu pointed to a line that was... I shouldn't dare repeat that.

"Woah!" Atsushi's face looked horrified. "You're kidding that's a lot of-"

Kunikida snatched his notebook back, menacingly standing behind Atsushi. "Do you have a problem with it?"

"Not at all, I can understand your vision of an ideal woman, but maybe, um..."

"You shouldn't share that with any actual women," Osamu suggested.

"Hate to break it to you, but I think you're better off living in your imagination," I sweat dropped.

Sometimes staying delusional is just the way to go through. *Ahem* Definitely not speaking from experience or anything.

"That's not important right now, we should talk about the abductions! Have you picked up on anything?!"

"Indeed." The brunette lifted the newspaper, gesturing towards the photograph of Kunikida. "I have deduced, without a doubt, you look very manly in this newspaper photo."

"You wanna see how manly I look when I punch your lights out!"

"What's regrettable, however, you should've picked sexier glasses. Here you are in the paper and those don't photograph well." Osamu took the glasses off of Kunikida's face, putting them on his own. "They're so plain. Only someone possessing my unbridled charm could pull off wearing them. What do you think, (Y/n)."

"Nope, I'm not getting involved in this."

"Wait a minute." The blonde mumbled under their breath before snatching the glasses back. "Let's go, I know who's behind this."

"Someone should keep an eye on Miss Sasaki, so I'm staying behind," I announced. "You three have fun."
