(Season 3, Episode 8)

Osamu, Kunikida, and I sat at a table in the office after retrieving our unconscious leader from a nearby alleyway. The President wasn't in a good state after his attack. Consequently, all of us were a bit shaken up. Who the hell would do such a thing?

The man wrapped in bandages reclined in his chair, while Kunikida and I continued to ponder deeply.

It was Atsushi who shattered the silence, storming into the office to confront the industrious blonde. "Is it true, the President was attacked?"

It's hard to believe that such a strong man went down without much of a struggle. I'm honestly having a hard time believing it to be true.

"Yeah, he's unconscious right now," Kunikida answered. "He's suffering from mysterious injuries. His condition isn't improving despite Yosano's ability."

"From what I understand, there've been a lot of attacks lately that were similar to this one," Osamu added. "Gifted people attacked at night with no one around to see; some of them already died."

"What do we know of the attacker?" I inquired.

"Only that they use an unknown ability and always wear a mask to conceal their face."

"Some kind of masked assassin," the man with glasses thought out loud.

"Probably," Osamu concluded. "But by the time we actually track him down, this mysterious attacker might already be dead. Which organization do you think stands to lose the most if a gifted assassin were to go on a massacre here, Atsushi?"

The weretiger thought for a moment before answering, "the Special Operations Division?"

The brunette opened his eyes. "You'd think that'd be the case, wouldn't you?"

Momentarily thinking to myself, I realized which group in Yokohama had the most gifteds. "It's the Port Mafia, isn't it?"

"Yup, you got it! The Port Mafia is widely regarded as the masters of the night. Their success is due to the power of their members. They can't afford to have someone out there killing ability users unchecked. Imagine if one of their own were to fall victim to these attacks."

"For starters, their credibility would come tumbling down fast," Kunikida predicted. "Till then, will they wait while others get attacked?"

"The first to make a move wins," the bandaged man revealed. "That's what Mori would always say. They won't wait to act. Truth is, they may have already discovered the attacker's hideout by now."

Not too thrilled by our current predicament, Atsushi left the room to go check on the President.

After another few minutes of silence, Kunikida spoke up. "You know, there's been something I've been meaning to ask you for a while, Dazai."

"And that is?"

"It pertains to the meeting that we had with the boss of the Port Mafia a few weeks ago," he explained. "Your former boss welcomed 'both Dazai's' to come back to the mafia. Who else was he referring to? Do you have a sibling or something?"

The brunette and I exchanged glances, our eyes wide with surprise. I was hoping that they'd forget about that.

Osamu sighed. "No, I don't have any siblings." Suddenly, my chair was drawn towards his, and then he wrapped his arms around me. "I gave her my last name."

"WHAT?!"

After enduring ten minutes of Kunikida's ramblings about his lack of knowledge concerning us, Osamu and I departed to locate our perpetrator. Amidst our search, I received a call from the blonde instructing us to investigate the vicinity of a recent explosion.
