Flashback, Many Years Ago :

"This is where you're working?" Jhope asked, glancing around the small clinic.

His husband, Yoongi, nodded. "Yeah. Son, why don't you go out and look for other kids to play with?" He directed his attention to 10-year-old Jungkook, who stood there with a cold, expressionless face.

"Show some emotions, will you? People will think you're a robot," Yoongi sighed, a hint of exasperation in his voice.

"Well, he is your son; he took all after you," Jhope rolled his eyes. He leaned down and patted Jungkook's hair affectionately. "Anyway, baby, go out, look around or play, okay? We'll call you in once we're done."

With a silent nod, Jungkook turned and stepped outside. The small village was a stark contrast to the bustling city life they were used to. He walked around, his black tee and pants blending into the serene greenery surrounding him. The calm atmosphere wrapped around him like a comforting blanket.

As he wandered, he stumbled upon a small lake, its surface shimmering under the sunlight. He was about to turn away when he noticed three little kids playing near the water. His gaze caught on two kids around his age, but it was the smaller one-just four years old-who drew him in.

Unbeknownst to Jungkook, this was his first encounter with Jin. Watching the little boy, he felt an inexplicable connection, a pull he couldn't quite understand.

Jin was bouncing a yellow smiley ball, his laughter ringing out like music as he played with it alongside Namjoon. But when the ball slipped from his grasp and fell into the water, Jungkook felt a pang of empathy for the little one.

SeoJun, Jin's older brother, was engrossed with a remote control car, but Jin's focus was unwavering as he desperately wanted to play with it instead.

Jungkook's expression softened, a rare chuckle escaping his lips as he watched Jin sit on the ground, pretending to drive the car with exaggerated sounds. "Broom broom," the little boy mimicked, his face lighting up with innocent joy.

It was a moment of pure childhood bliss, and for Jungkook, it felt like a window into a world he wanted to be part of. Little did he know, this fleeting encounter would mark the beginning of a significant chapter in both of their lives.

Ten-year-old Jungkook kept watching as the playful scene took a dark turn. SeoJun, in a fit of anger, ran toward Jin, accusing him of pushing Namjoon into the water. In a desperate attempt to protect his brother, Namjoon rushed to Jin's side, only to lose his balance and fall into the lake.

Panic surged through Jungkook as he witnessed the chaos unfold. Jin's cries pierced the air, raw and full of despair, while Namjoon's other brother ran away in a frenzy, shouting lies that Jin was the one responsible. Instinctively, Jungkook felt an urgent need to intervene. He hurried off to find his fathers, knowing they could help.

When he returned with Yoongi and Jhope, it was too late. The village people had already gathered, their expressions grim. The air was thick with sorrow and shock as they declared Namjoon dead. Jungkook felt his heart sink, the pain, hurt, and anger swirling within him. He couldn't understand how such a tragedy could happen so quickly.

Jin's parents were screaming, directing their fury at the small boy, slapping him and blaming him for something he hadn't done. Jungkook's heart ached as he watched Jin cry silently, his small frame trembling with fear and confusion. Jin was too young to endure such trauma; his hands were bleeding, and his once-soft cheeks were marked with streaks of blood.

Overwhelmed by the scene, Jungkook fought against the urge to intervene, his body frozen as he watched Jin run away, tears streaming down his face. He couldn't shake the image of Jin's distraught expression, nor the sound of his heart-wrenching sobs.
