*slap*
The sound of the slap reverberated through the walls as Jin shut his eyes, feeling the sting on his cheeks. It was a familiar sensation, one he had come to expect whenever he entered the house, his personal hell. Greeting him was always a harsh slap across the face.Jin let out a sigh, his hand instinctively moving to caress his stinging cheeks before he calmly spoke. "What did I do now?"
"How dare you say no when I called you before? And Seok Jin, how dare you leave the house without making breakfast for your brother?"
Jin's mother, Kim Eunchae, glared at Jin, her words dripping with anger and disappointment.
"What the... I said I was busy, and about breakfast, I called him but he didn't wake up. I asked if I should order food or not, but he didn't reply. I was getting late for my class, so I had to leave," Jin explained, his confusion evident.
"You could at least heat up the food and leave it on the table. My poor son had to stay hungry all day!" Jin's mother scolded.
"All day? It's just half of the day, and couldn't he get up and order himself? Last time I remember, you said i don't know how to cook and he hates my cooking. So from today onwards, he's eating takeout. Let him eat it. Don't tell me he needs people to grab his phone and call for takeout too,"
Jin retorted, his frustration evident, only to be silenced by his mother's shout.
"Shut up! You learn to speak a lot! You bastard!" Mrs. Kim's temper flared.
"Forget it. This isn't why I called you here. Listen. I fixed your marriage-"
"You did what? Marriage? Whose marriage?" Jin interrupted, his disbelief palpable.
"Seok Jin, how dare you cut me off? And yes, it's your marriage."
"Why? I thought Seojun was getting married. Why drag me into this?"
Jin asked, shocked and bewildered. He knew there was a marriage coming up, his brother Kim Seojun's marriage.
But out of nowhere, when did his own marriage get arranged? And he didn't even know about it.
"It was his marriage. But for some reason, he can't marry, so now you are taking his place."
"What the hell? Why? Did you even ask me? If I was alright with the idea or not? That's just ridiculous. I don't want to get married. Listen, you know I have a lot of things to do in life. I can't do it... I need to fulfill my dreams."
"Fuck your dreams; no one cares about them," Mrs. Kim scoffed.
"Now listen, don't speak nonsense and listen to what I say. The one you are marrying isn't a normal person. It's the great Jeon. I hardly convinced him on the marriage. Our business depends on him; once he marries you, we will get a 50% share. Your father is out talking with him. I just need your yes on the phone. Mr. Jeon won't sign the papers unless he hears your yes,"
Mrs. Kim spoke, each word piercing through Jin's heart.
Jin knew exactly who the Great Mr. Jeon was. Everyone knew him; he was the world's top businessman, a young billionaire renowned for his composed demeanor and sharp intellect. His handsome face graced the covers of magazines worldwide, not only for his business acumen but also for his athletic prowess. Mr. Jeon excelled in various sports, including running and archery, winning numerous competitions.
Additionally, his artistic talents were celebrated globally, with many of his creations showcased in prestigious art museums. He was a household name, admired by all.
Jin couldn't help but wonder how a man of such stature would stoop to managing his so called father's business and even consider marrying his brother.
Despite his disbelief, fate had other plans, and now, due to his idiot brother's misfortune, Jin found himself destined to marry this remarkable man instead.
